I'd advice that at least in your rookie season you play all games. By doing that and all the drills, you should raise your player to around 70-75 OVR and then he'll be good at the essentials. You can do whatever you want from there tho.

I sort of second that, but I'd like to add Post Proficiency. PP is so huge - I just tested to play without and was totally shocked how many of my hook shots / post fadeaways didn't fall.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Play most games your rookie year and you should be good afterwards. I played most and by the first game second season I was 82 ovr. Remember to put your vc to attributes vital to your pos. it'll get you a better ovr faster if you focus on being a skill player first then add flair to your gameComment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
This turns into a really nice fake move in which your player goes one way then turns and the defender falls for it 90% of the time.
Another good move is post up then tap shoot button, your player pump fakes and goes the other way for an easy hook. Also, double tap circle but dont press the shoot button. Again, your player spins the other way for an easy layup.
A nice way to get yourself free without P&R is posting up, passing it to the player in the corner then use the off-ball move to spin behind your defender. Ask for the ball, dunk, money stuff. It works 100% of the time when you manage to do the spin.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
I got 2500 and can't decide what to upgrade! Can you help me?
Athletic SF:
My main attributes:
Speed 78
Quickness 80
Dunk 90
Layup 80
Block&Steal 45 but I can do good without upgrading
Ball Security 70
Finisher lvl 1
Posterizer
Gatorade Pack
Also one question. I have purchsed two hand spin dunks and I want to purchase the 360 dunk now (2000sp). However these dunks can be performed by pressing the same buttons (double B or O for PS3), so will there be a problem?Comment

360s depend on your hand and press (I'm on Xbox) B twice and finish with X when you are at the rimXbox 360 Rosters:

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Hey, I have a question. My current Myplayer is a 6'3 SG that's been traded to the Knicks. What the AI coach has apparently decided is that the best Knicks starting 5 now includes Shumpert at SG, me at SF, and Carmelo at PF.
Shumpert is 6'5, but 6'3 me is stuck at SF. It's maddening. I'm assuming the only actual solution is to complain about Shumpert to the GM and hope he gets traded, which I don't really want to do because he's pretty good.
What can I do to maximize my effectiveness as a 6'3 SF? I'd been concentrating on my shooting, speed, and rebounding until now. What's my best course of action now, though?Comment

Oh, alternatively, is it possible that if I completely focus on improving my ball handling and passing that Shumpert and I could be switched, or I could even be moved to PG?Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
I would but I would spend 2500 SP just to get speed from 78 to 83. And on PC its really hard to earn SP...Comment
