I'm seriously struggling right now. I'm a 6'7" PG for the blazers and am having a great season. But as of the past 5 games, I cannot make a layup to save my life. I can't dunk either. I have 99 dunk, 99 vertical, 99 layup, the Jordan Dunk Package, and no matter what I do, the layup misses and no matter what my guy NEVER attempts a dunk. I've tried changing different combos of square or the shot stick modifier, but I can't make any baskets. I'm shooting like 30% and it is driving me insane because earlier I was getting around 40-50% at least and layups went in at a normal rate. But it is a ridiculous percentage of shots that I am missing, and the fact that I can't dunk is odd. I dunked in the past when my dunk stats were lower and I had a different package, and I even tried going back to that package, but I still can't dunk. I can dunk fine in association mode too so I know the controls. Has anybody else had these problems? It's very frustrating.

Check if you're injured. I once had my player on a sprained ankle and he couldnt leave the ground for rebounds or layups. Didnt affect my offensive game because he's 7'1 so I didnt really need to jump that much for the layups. He looked/felt like a 40 year old on the court tho.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
You did not state you sig skills - have you upgraded one or more of those at the same time? Some have claimed that Finisher 3 is bugged, and that what you describe happened to them when they equipped it.
Lastly, I know you most likely did this, but be sure your dunk packages are enabled... I fill all 15 slots I have with that package and I have not had issues with dunking - others say 8 slots is enough to fill...
One last thing... Each dunk needs different angles and stamina to trigger... you sure you are meeting those? The only way I know to find those is by "practice" mode. You say you do the same exact dunks in Association, so I bet you have this covered, but I bring it up just in case.Comment

I've read about issues with the Jordan package in 2k13. The first thing I'd do is search the forums for "Jordan dunk package" ...

how does the game calculate attributes used during actual gameplay?
Hey guys.
How does the game calculate your attributes it uses in actual gameplay? Because I've noticed the ratings that I have on the home screen is different from ones that show during a game. Just a few examples, on the home screen my 3pt rating is 93, but if I check attributes in a game (via boxscore) it's 90. My layup is 96 (home screen) is shown as 93. My on-ball defense is maxed out at 95 but during a game it's 90, my quickness is at 95 but in game it's at 92.
The differences are significant enough that my overall rating actually drops to 84 from 88 (!) and even lowers the pos avg's along with it.
Now I've thought maybe my player is just on a cold streak, but I've checked this multiple times on different intervals. I've checked before a game, at halftime, before the start of the 4th quarter, before all-star break, playoffs, finals, the following season, the differences are CONSTANT.
I've also checked with default and simulation settings, it's all the same too. I've even gone as far as increasing my quickness by 1 and then equipping Kobe's shoes (+5 quickness) just to check if the -3 difference still applies, and it does. at 94 quickness, and then equipping the shoes, I get 99 on home screen and 96 quickness in a game. I raise it to 95, equip shoes, I get 99 still (home screen), and I get 97 in-game.
Anyone else notice this happening in their mycareers, or am I the only one unlucky to have this?
Can someone please explain?Comment

I would suggest a couple things to you. First off I would get rid of Gatorade as frankly it doesn't do much. If your stamina is at 95 you won't really have to worry about getting tired. I use sprint a lot at pg and I am hardly ever tired/fatigued. Reason I would do this is to free up room for 2 of the next few I list.
I would say def anchor is one of the best as it will improve defense for your whole team when you are on the floor. If you already have a great defense than I would do pick pocket or interceptor. This will improve your stealing ability. Defense wins championships, especially in this game.
If you don't want 2 defensive sig skills than I would say get sharp shooter since you only shoot when your kicked the ball while wide open. This makes your release point for made shots a lot bigger. If you have that with dead eye you'll be deadly.

There has been no logical explanation, people throw out ideas to the one who posts it saying your being guarded by someone with lockdown def sig skill, but that's not correct because it happens every game with the same discrepancy and lockdown defender doesn't effect ratings it just neutralizes your offensive sig skills.
The only thing I thought of was that our accessories with boosts don't actually apply to our ratings during the game, but I haven't done enough studying to see if that's the cause. If you want to take some time since you have obviously invested a lot of time and really would at least like an answer. I would suggest you look at every accessory you have on your player with boosts, ankle braces, arm sleeves, shoes, leg sleeves, the jewelry that you can purchase that has boosts, and see if the deduction is the same as the accessories that you have boosts for.
If this were the cause it would make sense, a simply programming oversite and since most people don't check their attributes in game it would also make sense why it was never patched, because it wouldn't get reported as a bug, at least not often and not in the beginning complaints right after game release which are the problems that get fixed via patches.Comment

Re: how does the game calculate attributes used during actual gameplay?
It's called team chemistry, higher it is better your stats going to be. If you don't pass the ball at all or if your team is having losing streak or you cant avg more than B- then your in-game ratings are going to drop. At the same time if your a good team player, avg A+ and your team is having good season you get close to your max attributes may be few boosts if you aren't maxed out in-gameComment

I thought it was about fatigue.Comment

my bad, yes fatigue can bring your attributes down too, My center FT goes down to 60(maxed at 95) during last 2 minutes when I am gassed out.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
You are not the only 1. This has actually been brought up multiple times in this thread, and no one has an explanation. It's funny because no one really notices this then someone brings it up and everyone who reads the thread the next day or 2 checks their mycareer and finds the same thing and replies about it, this subject will get talked about for 2 or 3 pages then dies off and every week or 2 someone else brings it up.

For a while, I had the working theory that the legends training camps are actually the bonuses that are not reflected during a game but upon checking my ratings closely, but that's not the case.
It's called team chemistry, higher it is better your stats going to be. And one would think we should get the boosts for team chemistry since we're part of the team, but no. And I would've been fine with that, if only the game didn't mess with my ratings.
---
I even thought it had something to do with consistency, so I boosted mine to 90 (same as Lebron so I figured 90 is safe), but it didn't change anything. My ratings are still lower compared to my ratings on the home page.
So I don't know. I really do hope this bug is reported and fixed, maybe they're aware of it by now since it's actually been talked about already. Coz I do love the game even though it's pretty disappointing that after all the rave reviews and hype, they release a game that's riddled with bugs. I guess I should consider myself lucky I have an internet connection and not a PC user, so at least I can grab the patches. If and when it comes. And a fix for this is on it.Comment
