Signature skills: most bang for your SP/VC?

Which signature skills have you found most useful/effective?

I'm a scoring PG with Floor general, dimer, closer, deadeye. I'm thinking of lockdown defender as my fifth (to replace gatorade skill), and considering replacing one of my other skills for another defensive sig skill.

Is pickpocket still worth it? From everything I've read and what I've seen in my games, reach-ins happen a lot. But I'm curious if it would help in the success rate in stealing when trapping and get into the double team animation. If I can get even just 2 steals off this, it'll be worth it.

I've also read dimer sometimes don't activate. I can't quite test this yet as the game doesn't allow you to take off a sig skill without a replacement, and since I'm working with SPs and not VCs (didnt want to start over after losing internet connection that one time) I want to make sure the sig skill I do grab is worth it.

Acrobat vs Finisher? Ankle breaker vs shot creator?

Does floor general/closer really make the difference for you?

    What is your setup?

I've found that all of the sig skills in relation to stealing aren't that good to get. Not that they don't work, it's just I manage league leading amounts without them. Closer in my opinion is a very good skill, as is lockdown defender. As for acrobat vs finisher: definitely finisher (only to level 2). Shot creator and ankle breaker are both decent skills but I wouldn't recommend them over others.

For you I would suggest: Dimer and closer as definites. Deadeye/finisher (depending on whether you drive more or shoot from mid/3pt more), lockdown defender and either floor general or the other of deadeye/finisher (personal preference, if you prefer to score the deadeye/finisher, if you want your team to be slightly better floor general.)

Personally on my point guard I use: Dimer, Ooper, Lockdown defender, Closer and Finisher

I actually just posted about this the other day. I'm beginning to wonder if sig skills do anything at all. I have closer lvl2, with lvl 1's in floor general, dead eye, sharp shooter, and finisher.

I feel that more times than not my guy goes cold in the final 3-4 mins of close games. I start missing layups, free throws, wide open jumper and 3's. All of my ratings that contribute to those shots are all 90+ including consistency and stamina. My guy is usually not tired either.

I have built my sig skills specifically so I can take over games late in close games, but I'm not convinced they really do anything at all. I've wanted to test my theory but as you said I can't just remove my sig skills, which I find to be a poor decision on the programming.

So my two cents is in theory pick pocket and defensive anchor would be most beneficial to you, but I'm simply not convinced they work.

One thing I recommend you do though to help with steals is simply practice timing, most my steals come from either stealing from bigs when I'm helping my teammate on defense when bigs are making moves and stealing from people in the paint when opponents are starting their shooting motion on layups. I don't have much success in passing lanes or just stealing from the guy I'm guarding. But since I got my steal rating up I've been averaging about 1.6 steals per game using those two techniques.

But we don't make any improvements in the offseason even though Melo's and JR's contract are off the books ( i got traded for them in my rookie season ) kind of lame

Spurs have Duncan , Manu , Iggy , Melo they're stacked

              Just finished the rookie showcase.
              We won 87-77.

              I had 4 points (2-5 FG), 2 rebounds, 19 assists, 2 steals and 1 turnover. A- grade.

Thanks for the input. I've always had my doubts about the stealing sig skills as stealing seems a lot like blocking, more about timing than anything else, especially now they've turned up the reach-in foul rate. It'd be helpful if someone has checked out if there's a difference post-patch.

I've always thought about getting finisher but from what I read and from watching commentary videos, some claim you miss about the same amount of lay-ups with or without it, that it really just's depends on your layup rating or shoot in traffic. have you found this to be true? I'm still on the fence whether to skip this sig and just up the layup and SIT attributes, or keep them where they are and just grab finisher.

I think this circles back and is tied up to the issue of how is it your ratings are down during a game without an explanation why. I've even read some threads here saying closer simply improves your shooting abilities (thus "clutch") but then there's no clear cut way to verify this besides the obvious (making the shot or not) because again, the ratings during a game are inconsistent.

I'm starting to wonder if floor general actually works, and if so, how do we verify this? i have floor general lvl1 myself and i can't see the boosts it provides my teammates; pulling up player ratings during a game don't reflect any difference when the team is on offense (floor general icon is activated) and when the team is on defense - it is the same. Can anyone clarify this? How does the game handle the floor general boosts?

The only signature skill that works consistently for me other than the gatorade pack is Deadeye. I also heard Scrapper actually works well even for a PG. It helps you to chase lose ball and such, I'm thinking about getting it.

Floor general only helps your team offense, on the other hand defensive anchor helps your team defense. I had floor general lvl 1 before and found that it really didn't do much. I suppose a +2 rating doesn't really affect much.

Well in my experience, I got finisher early on in all of my careers and it made a big difference in making contested layups when I had lower SIT and Layup ratings. I can't comment on its effect at maximum ratings as it has always been equipped for me.

I dont think you will be able to do that, but not sure. may be you can have your friend do that for you. There is one certain way though. create a player and use "CAL" mode and you can add any accessory you like. you wont have certain mycareer stuff like interviews, twitter etc.

That is a lot of assists. I am terrible at them and only get some when I kick out to my shooters. I am awful at inside passing.
