Made myself as a 7 foot 250 pound center from Indiana. Got drafted 6th by the Trail Blazers after getting something like 12 pts, 11 rebs , 2 assts and 6 blocks in the rookie showcase. The future could be bright with a starting line-up of Lillard,Batum,Matthews,Aldridge and me, once i crack the starting 5.

*** **** it, it's like playing Volleyball 2k13, my player keeps tapping the ball!
I'm well placed, taller than everybody else (7'2), I have a bit of jump, good rebounds attributs and my player just doesn't f-ing want to grab it

In my last game, I think I tapped 8 or 9 offensive rebounds.

THe problem is the game is not well balanced. So they added some fake sh!t so you're stats or realistic. If I'd grab the rebounds I should grab, I'd be at 6-7 OR a game 2k probably thinks it's not realistic so they prefer tohave Deron Williams or Lillard taking it over me (yeah, like that is realistic...)

I'm ok with not having all the rebounds, I'm ok with some "tapping" sometimes. But it gets just ridiculous. I'm starting not to even think about going for the OR because I already know how it will end.

I don't even talk about defensive rebounds, my plaer is dumb and a ghost. The ball just passes through him to fall into anybody's hands.
One thing I've noticed is your PG/SG usually steals our rebounds. Anyway, I'm averaging 10+ per game (league tally is 8 per game taking into account my games as a non-starter) as of late. I maxed out offensive and defensive rebound and got the Scrapper ability. Hustle is over 80 and vertical is maxed.

It's more a matter of timing than anything but it gets irritating when their center starts to grab more boards than you due to scripting, i.e you there trying to box out and position yourself in the paint, then he makes a move to the left and the ball hits the rim going exactly where he is, like a missile.

By the way, I've heard maxing out "Hands" helps with the tapping, as your player is tapping the ball because he's under pressure and the hands attribute (which is your player's ability to catch the ball) is probably too low for him to be able to secure it definitely. I have to test it tho.

Maxing out hands helps, but they still make you do a lot of tapping. I average 16 rebounds(6 off). Still a lot of tapping.

And what do you think of Scrapper?
            Is it useful?

After the Rookie Showcase.......Do you guys leave Difficulty and Game Style at Pro Default? And would default style be the sliders that you customized b4 going into MyCareer? Sorry if that sounds confusing. Thanks guys.

I think most people on here change the Difficulty to either all star, superstar or hall of fame depending on what you prefer. The default sliders are just the regular sliders that you play online games with etc. You cannot play with customized sliders in MyCareer, you can only choose between default and simulation.

Thanks for the response. Wasn't sure about all that.

Yes, very. It improves your quickness and speed when hustling for rebounds. It's only level one but I see a great improvement. I play on Superstar and there was a game against Denver in which I've blocked Ty Lawson, rebound felt to Iggy, I've managed to get a "good shot defense" on him and then my player managed to catch the ball after it bounced off the rim.

No kidding. Very rare stuff, but it helps a lot IMHO.

                      OK thanks, I'll try!

What about brick wall? I like to do screens (and try to go for the P&R then), is it a good sig skill?

It's great too. Their point guards will stumble and fall once they hit you more often than not. Then all you have to do is spin to the basket, ask for the ball and dunk. By the way, I've been averaging 20-30 points per game on Superstar off doing P&R, some post moves here and there but mostly P&R.

Really, Scrapper, Brick Wall, Finisher and Bruiser are everything you need as a big man. Makes you great at rebounding, P&R, contact layups/dunks and drains stamina off your opponents.

                          Finally.....My Career happiness.....

I don't know about you all but I wanted to start a sg but I just could not do it. The thought of playing endless app games to get the 1000/day VC or the other equally boring ways to raise VC was just too much. I really HATE how they incorporated VC just to make a few more bucks.

But I found a better option....

I followed the YouTube video that shows how to incorporate a creates character into the 'Create a Legend' mode. I gave my guy a few dunks, raised his stats so his overall was around 81 and started. I am LOVING IT! He is great to play right off the bat. No more press conferences (after the 300th one it gets old) or having to sweat to get things. Now I make him the way I see him and away he goes.

Will never play another game of MY Career again....until 2k14 of course. :-)

Half way through my rookie year with a Ath 7' center. Starting for Milwaukee and the team just sucks we had been hanging onto the 7-8 spot in the conference and then just went on a slide. Simmed to my next key game that was about two weeks away. Team went 1-6 in that span. Went to the GM and asked to be traded, not demanded. Just wanted off the team.

Asked for my input and the Kings were the only team that were interested in me. I put them on my list along with a couple others. Eventually traded to the Kings. Looked at the rotation and I'm the starting PF.

First game with the Kings is against LeBron and the Heat. Nice initiation.

Starting PF with some spots in as center. Have one of the best games of my career. Career high points, rebounds and blocks.

We're in the 7th spot in the conference heading into the end of the season. Now just trying to change my game for the new position.

So does everyone do all three drills before every game and then play out every game? Is it possible to still have a good player only playing key games?

I used to play the drills as they came up when I needed the VC to upgrade my rating. I rarely play them now though, only when I need some extra VC to try a new Sig Skill or something. You can get to 99 through key games only, it will just take you longer.
