Anyways, Rose is better than Westbrook. Not sure how Rose'll be after his rehab, but before that, for sure. Rose is a better scorer, and unlike Westbrook, he doesn't have Kevin Durant to draw away defensive attention, or James Harden. Who's the defense going to fear on the Bulls...Luol Deng? Come on. Rose is a much better passer, especially in the drive-and-dish game...what is Westbrook better at? Maybe not even defense, since Rose only surrendered 0.77 points-per-possession last season, and don't make excuses it was for Chicago's great interior D that got him that number, because he only allowed 0.75 PPP in isolation plays,
Actually, the MVP IS supposed to be given to the player who has the most value to his team and the most value to their success.. MVP=most VALUABLE player..

Exactly. What good was Orlando without Dwight? What good was Cleveland without LeBron in his Cavs days? You just proved my point...

Nobody on the bulls can really create their own shot and that is why the Bulls lost first round and without Rose I'm pretty sure they would only be like 40 Win team.

I think I figured out the problem-most of yall never played point guard or just typical fans.
Yall love stats and don't look at the style of play or a player's value on drawing double teams and closing out games.

Is suggest yall go watch YouTube or something. Watch the way rose scores and watch the way Westbrook scores... Westbrook gets all energy points and hustle points and can afford to jack shots up cause kd gone clean up his mess half the time. Every time Westbrook come off a screen he see's no double team and just shoots the pull up over nobody.

Other hand watch Rose's clips the whole defense is focused on him and he still manages to get where he needs to get and finishes under control everytime. He scores like a pg not just energy plays. Westbrook doesn't have the floater, control in the air, or ability to make shots over two and 3 defenders. Rose finds ways into cracks and you've heard time and time again he plays the backboard better than anybody.

If Westbrook was half of what yall thinking he is LeBron would've guarded him and let wade guard kd since Westbrook is this beast yall rave about lol I've seen cp3 eat Westbrook up and quite frankly if it wasn't for the ACL tear half of yall know better than comparing that outta control dude to a MVP!

Comparing them is like comparing Andre Iguodaula to LeBron (lets say iggy aved 26 at least) just cause iggy can rebound and pass and stats looked like LeBrons and he is just as athletic doesn't mean they the same player... LeBron commands a certain attention from the defense iggy can't which makes his teams better...

Go to YouTube you'll see the respect and view numbers rose has compared to Westbrook, sure yall will say cause he's more popular but he is for a reason he's better than him in almost every aspect besides ball hog

                  Re: Russell Westbrook.....

As an unbiased fan i would prefer d-rose over westbrook because of his decision making is better and he plays more under control but to say that they are not even on the same level or tier is crazy.

You dont have to agree with westbrook and rose being on the same tier but by making a thread about it "drose fan" you are coming off as an insecure fan because your favorite player and franchise player is being compared to an 2nd option player in westbrook.

I don't think anybody has ever won and MVP award and not deserved it. There are certainly seasons when there are more than one deserving player (practically every season), but every player that has one has deserved it.

Like I said Rose had 7 assists and 3 turnovers and he averaged LESS rebounds than Nash did all while playing more minutes!

Nash also averaged a double double, which many of you don't seem to think is important but if you're supposed to be the top PG in the league you should be damn good at setting up your teammates..
It doesn't matter what Nash averaged. What mattered is the points accounted for which I provided. The bulls are a good team without D. Rose? They lost 4 of the next 5 games to an 8th seed without him. How can you say that?

The main problem in this thread is that people saying Rose > Westbrook are taking it as a slight to Westbrook. He's a damn good player.

When you have someone like Durant on your team, you SHOULD be more efficient. Teams aren't worried about Westbrook in the same way that they are worried about Durant. Some of yall are bringing up stats and aren't accounting for the impact that having a player like Durant on your team has for someone like Westbrook.

Also (as was alluded to earlier) Rose is the only one on the Bulls that can create his own shot. When the shot clock is running down, they pass to D. Rose to make something happen. Westbrook doesn't have to deal with this issue on OKC.

2K does their ratings on a year to year (maybe even week to week basis). Just because they rate Westbrook better this year doesn't mean he's necessarily better than D. Rose in real life. They're just basing it off of last year's stats. D. Rose was injured and his numbers took a hit.

As i stated earlier, pre-injury D. Rose was better than Westbrook (and it wasn't debatable). Now? I wouldn't argue if anyone chose Westbrook but me personally, I'd still take D. Rose.

The fact is still there that Steve Nash made that team, there is a huge difference from how he moved the ball and made everybody on that team MUCH better, and a guy like Rose who passes the ball when he can't get his own look...

And yeah the bull lost 4 of 5, it's the PLAYOFFS.. Of course you won't advance without your superstar? You're acting like they were losing to the bobcats or something? The 76ers were no push over team. Anybody who actually watched the playoffs saw how well they played, and how Iggy raised his game as well..

Weren't the Bulls like 18-9 in the regular season without Rose? They doubled their losses with wins.. That's still a playoff team, hell at that pace it's still one of the top seeds.. At that same pace they would be 55-27 or 56-28 in a full length season.. That's still DAMN GOOD!

^ that shows that the team success is geared more towards the teams stellar defense and coach Thib, than it is towards their superstar..

I have NEVER in this thread tried to say Rose wasn't a great player.. That would be ignorant to even think that.. But he is NOT the best PG in the league, and I still do not think his "value" or his statistical performance was near worthy of the MVP award.
