I brought every 2k NBA game released but I have to see some major upgrades Defensively, Paint Contact, Low Post Moves and etc before i say i'd buy 2k14. With GTA V coming out September of this year I could easily see myself waiting it out if the improvements are not better.

That's another good point I didn't think about until after I made my first post. I'm usually fiending for a new game (a new basketball game to be more specific) but depending on the angle 2K takes this year (say, if they focus most of their efforts on the re-introduction of Crew, a mode I never play) then it may be easier this year than any other year to wait for a price drop, largely thanks to Grand Theft Auto's September release.

Gonna be a FIFA guy for a few years. I'm getting a PS4 and then FIFA is the only announced sports game supporting it thus far. Even if 2k announced a next gen game, I wouldn't buy it for the simple fact that they don't seem to care about their standards anymore. So many things were left broken this year and last, and some things (like NBA Today and seeing player stats league leaders etc from 2k11) were taken out needlessly.

The only way I'd ever buy this game new was if there was an unexpected revelation that the franchise took a 180 and started again on the path 2k11 forged

Only games im buying in fall is GTA V & 2k, maybe CoD but they get worse & worse so I prolly skip it

sorry boss but when 2k talks about something they hype up, its usually for the casual players they are trying to get the attention of. I love the series but since k211, the turn to gimped defense, easy scoring, and arcade gameplay has really lowered my expectations. For the first time in yearsssss I am looking forward to see what Live has done with a 3year cycle. Of course if they shoot themselves in the foot again, I will settle for 2k

I'll end up buying it just to get an NBA fix. The game is good but it gets way too much praise. LOL hard at the lack of features in online association and whacky gameplay stuff.

I agree. It's their job to hype a product, but I won't buy into any of it until they do more than just talking. There was a dev insight promoting 2k13 with some bs about improved footplanting on defense...what we actually got for our money is dunk animations pushing defenders literally meters away and unstoppable self-alley/spin animations that make any talk about defense "improvements" a complete joke.
Add the lack of PC support, pathetic roster updates and general lack of acknowledging pretty much every aspect of real basketball, and I probaby won't spend money on a 2k product again.

Now 2k won't have to care, because many people love their games, and even if they don't...the number of kids basically wasting their parent's money is much bigger than the few disappointed older fans who won't spend their cash on a half-a**ed product yet again.

I am just going to ignore all the hype they are going to try to sell us this year and make my own opinion when I get to play the demo or rent it.
I bought into the hype 2 years in a row. so they lost my trust.

I seriously have no idea why anyone would buy the PC version honestly. It doesn't deserve it. They still didn't have a patch this year.

Of course I'm going to buy it. There are certain series of games where I buy every new release (such as Assassin's Creed) and NBA 2K is one of those series.

This poll is negativ because the two last question are not interesting. And it begin to warning every body that maybe the game will disapoint again and again! And the second question mean you will accept that 2k14 won't be as you want once again but like it is the only possibilities to play basket in nba you will see it several months later with a price drop and buy it like a casual gamer ! Ah ah ah !
But do you really want to know why i hate this game? You know i m not hypocrite. When i play during 3 hours to this game in hof against the orlando magic 1996 (scott in the starting line up) with the bulls 96 for 7 months and i search each time where are the triangle offense and i lost and i lost and i lost and i eat 3 pts by scott, 7/9 each game, it is horrible, when i dunk with jordan and he dunk like james yes it is horrible, horace grant not blue googles yes it is too. Not phil jackson to coach? Is it a basket ball game??? No i think it is an arcade game this is why i hate this game. So i play to this game in the hope to find a good thing every time and first i have never found this good thing, and secondly like i play in hof i lost 19 game or 20 maybe more so i begin the first quarter to see and follow in the second and i start from scratch the same game when i see it is too complicate to come back in the game. And sometimes i finish the game without knowing how to play and the score is 113/86 for the cpu and he makes every possible action he wants with the bench players. I loose not because i play bad, i loose because triangleoffense are not in the game and due this issue gameplay is not interresting: double team on jordan and kerr is open for three or kukoc or pippen. Or longley in the paint or rodman. Always the same thing, and the same end. Spin moov for jordan and dunk.fade away jump shot.
So I destroyed my life due to those 3 last game. The question now for me should be : "even if the game is good, will you follow to destroy your life like that even if there is a really good implementation of suns 93, classic court, better dunk for jordan, triangle offense, phil jackson, other team to play against the dream team 92 (croatia ....). Will i have the time to play and the money? I broke two ps3 due to this game, the second is again in life, but it can't read blue ray the poor but the hdd is ok.
The first it is due to 2k10, connection issue to find a part and i went ape****, it is the truth. My eyes are destroyed too!
The only thing which comes to me when i think to 2k developper is damages claim.

In 2k11, classic court were respected, air jordan 11 concords sole are respected, but impossible to get bred, kemp hairstyle is not, his photo too.
In 2k12 hair style kemp was respected, but classic court were not and phil jackson disappeared for classic team bulls.
In 2k13 air jordan 11 retro are bred but the sole is just red and just wight for concords. It is a detail but why have classic court been respected in 2k11 if it was just a detail? And Black jersey for the bulls ........?2k, you give us something new the next year and you take away another good thing from the past year, how do you want we be happy of your game?
And to finish due your f..... Arcade Triangle offens, all the time i spend my life to search and so i hadn't got the time to enjoy the orlando magic 1995/6, or enjoy today team and make a season with the heat 2013 or the spurs 2013, or enjoy the online, maybe discover my player and follow to play other game like skyrim (even it is not morrowind, another game with a lot of criticism) i didn't buy battlefield 3 while i was so strong in battlefield 2, and my life is just broken too ...... No women etc etc ....
Imagine you gave me nba 2k11 with suns 93 and good triangle offense maybe i would have been happy and i would opened my ps3 i would played 10 min and i would love it and i would switched off my ps3 destressed because. Next year maybe i wouldn't buy nba 2k12, but if there were orlando magic 1995/6 i would finally indulged myself for 2k12. So to conclude i don't know who is the pick pocket between you and david stern but there is a guy who owes me damage claim it is sure!
And a lot of people would like to play to a good basket ball game with jordan but around me all my friends told me that jordan was very very bad in the game and they don't like nba 2k game they are borring by nba basket ball game, they have no more hope, and just a last thing. I have been on forum in france and in usa on OP, and all the criticism i have read since 3 years, it is so huge and every page are full of red thread, you know the small image before the thread, sometimes the color is the fire, 8/10 are red or yellow to show that the discussion is hot, and maybe just one or tow are green.

That is all!!! This is why i hate this game.

If it isn't on the next Xbox, no.. My Xbox recently broke and I am not replacing it.. Why not wait until November, save up, then get the new upgraded console?

If my Xbox didn't break, I would for sure get it midnight release.. Hell, if I change my mind and get a 360, count on me getting it on launch day.

I still have PS3, but it is more of a family system, and I'm more of a Xbox person. I have great expectations for the next Xbox, sounds great thus-far.
