I've played these NBA 2K:
PS2: 2K5, 2K8, 2K9
PC: 2K10, 2K11, 2K12, 2K13
As far as best NBA 2K (That I have played):
2K11
It is difficult to choose beyond that one, because I don't feel that strongly about any I played before or after it.
The main modes that I play are 90% Association and 10% My Player. I even wrote a FAQ for My Player for NBA 2K11. You can check it out at gamefaqs.com: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/995393-nba-2k11/faqs
^^ My thoughts, exactly.
I didn't get deeply involved in changing the sliders for the games. If you have a set of sliders and rosters that make 2K13/2K14 have good gameplay, then please post links to these, along with gameplay videos that demonstrate them in action.
I can't answer this question. I've not played 14. I've only seen videos of it on youtube, and the game doesn't impress me. Gameplay feels weak beyond 2K11. (Please note that this is only my opinion.)
Strong gameplay involves a lot of things: stopping the break, defending the paint, double-teaming, rebounds, midrange/longrange accuracy, scoring in traffic, breaking ankles, etc. All of these things (and more) have to be done in an appropriate frequency and balance with each other. I don't necessarily see this in any game, to be honest, but 2K11 gets closer than the others that I have played.
What does FB mean?
Also, you can get offensive rebounds in 2K11. They're harder to get because the defensive positioning is good, and you have to start working at it before the shot goes up. They're easier to get if you're controlling a player other than the shooter, and can get position. If you're controlling the shooter, then, yeah, your odds of getting an offensive rebound will be low, as your CPU teammates are likely in bad position to go for the board once you switch control from the shooter.
As far as sim stats, I know that rebounding is an issue. So, if you can provide strong gameplay and strong stats, then please recommend a good version with sliders and rosters that provide a suitable result.
Thanks for your help.
