Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
I created a 7'1" athletic power forward. I maxed out dunking, standing dunking, vertical and quickness. Yet my player is not dunking the ball. I even have posterizor as a signature. I'm holding r2 and square and sometimes r2 and the right stick. What am I doing wrong. I just wasted all that vc in dunking and all, and I'm only laying up the ball.
Same thing happens with my bigman. Wish I had an answer.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
Ok fellas word of advice just an FYI
please don't accidentally hit "play next key game" when in the playoffs - heck don't accidentally hit it or hit it on purpose....
So UTAH we lose game 1 to the T-Wolves - I take a break i turn it on i change my shoes i'm like ok i scroll up and i scroll one option to far to next key game (now the average person goes) - hell i'm already here, let me just select it - the next key game is game 2 right? - WRONG
dudes i was playing Game 5 down 3-1 to Minnesota #@$$$%^&* - i couldn't go back because it auto saves when you select to play the next game and i did not want data corruption - so we win game 5 we lose game 6 and eliminated great! - so lesson learned - either scroll down 1, hit start, just never select "next key game" in the playoffsComment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
On pS3, whenever it's close in the 4th down the stretch I always catch the CPU calling random 2-3 zones trying to set me up for failure. 2K think they're slick.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
Was asked yesterday in a crew why I don't play HoF level in MC, and the biggest reason is that I farm VC in MC. I figured that I share with you all on my style of farming VC with a new MC player. Some of this may be a big DUH, so I apologize if it is.
1. As a brand new rookie, set the playing minutes to 12 so you can get time on the court.
2. Set the defense to Full Court Pressure. On the inbound pass for the CPU and when it's SAFELY POSSIBLE, attempt to steal the ball or make the CPU commit a turnover by bumping the ballhandler from behind as he tries to spin to get the ball over halfcourt. I get a lot of steals this way, and also, if your player scores with a dunk after the steal, it's almost a full letter grade.
3. Rebounding - logic is still pretty much the same, but there is no guarantee that you'll get the rebound because AI logic comes into play. All you can do is increase your chances and hope the AI sides with you. Layups and close shots require you to be close to the basket. Perimeter shots will require you to stand further away from the basket. While the ball is bouncing on the rim, determine the angle of the trajectory and start your momentum in that direction. If you have no momentum in that direction, you'll just jump straight up. For offensive rebounds, going out of bounds and coming back in from underneath the basket is still very effective.
4. Shooting - I had a very hard time shooting mid-range shots as a rookie so I would shoot those minimally. If you do, I find the mid-range hop-step jumper to give me a better chance. Layups and close shots are the best chances, and combine your layups with dribbling moves and spins to increase your shot percentage as well as letter grade. Dribble and spin WISELY. Another recommended shot would be to hop-step, very quick pause, and then shoot the ball for either a regular shot or an up and under. Lastly, post up your player just outside the paint, fake a shot, and do an up and under.
5. Pick and roll - I've had tremendous success with getting open by setting a pick and rolling to the basket. Often, I would run out of bounds and back in underneath the basket to the top of the key to set the pick for the PG. This works at least 4 to 5 times a game. Try not to constantly repeat this and mix up your offensive strategy.
I'll post more later.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
I am about 30 games into the rookie season playing 9 min qtrs. Got drafted as a PG to Boston to backup Rondo and eventually i start over Bradley.
I ask about getting more talent and the GM trades Rondo for Bynum which was an upgrade but sheez is Bynum lazy. So no Rondo and im trying to carry this team averaging 37pts, 4 rebs, 4 asts and 4 steals but we barely get above .500.
Is it just me or does no CPU AI never want to take a jump shot? ...just pass the ball back to you.
Hate the new Alley Oop controls. Recently GM traded Avery Bradley for Klay Thompson so hopefully we will get better.Comeback can happen...thanks to EA Sports!Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
