Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread

Ok I have tried everything and its not working, so I turned to my fellow mycareer players. I really wanted to go to the rockets as a PG and you guys know they don't have a pick in the 1st round so only way there is via trade. can anyone give me tips regarding how to go to the team you want to when you ask for a trade. I read somewhere its more likely to happen between conferences i.e, If I am drafted by someone in west its more likely I will be traded to a team from east. I dont know how much of that is valid.

My questions are what do I need to do to make sure my team trades me to the team I want to go

        - request a trade or demand a trade ?

        - Getting drafted by an eastern conference team so its more likely that they trade to the rockets(western conference)

Any help will be greatly appreciated guys, I tried making 8 different saves and not once I have been traded to the rockets.

Played through 70 games so far, and I'm 58-12 with the Thunder. Have not changed my close shot skill playing 20 something games, but it does seem to progress as my Inside Shooting is now a B+. It feels like they instituted some type of "experience" value for your Inside and Outside shots. Not sure, but just my guess on this. The game now feels less like soccer, and my teammates don't screw up as much. Though at times they will still have some really bad games and it just drives me up the wall. Still averaging about 6 turnovers on 6-8 min games. Slam dunk contest is pretty damn cool but hard as hell since I have never practiced any of the moves before. And oh yeah, the double-double SM challenge seems to change to specifically rebounding, but at other times, the challenge doesn't specify. Love the score 40 point challenge as it gave me 400 VC and I was playing a key game (800 VC).

It always seems when you demand a trade, players you want to play with end up being traded IN the trade to your previous team

Pathetic ending to a 93-88 Spurs win over myplayers' 76ers team.. down 4 with 25 seconds they don't foul.. so I push the back button to force a foul.. instead my guy runs around in circles for 4 seconds then picks a guy..

now down 5 with 12 seconds left, Richardson gets the ball top of the key/3-point arch and stands there until the game clock is at 1 and shoots.. so NOPE they STILL haven't fixed late game situations, or if they attempted to it's even worse.. it's not even fun to be IN a late game situation if you're not ahead to try and make the comeback

7'1" 258lb Center drafted #29 to OKC. Before I started MyCAREER I went to edit Jeremy Lamb's shot tendency to 52. However, he still attempts a lot of shots in game, particularly from 3PT range, I guess I should've lowered his 3PT tendency as well. He's shooting only 31% from 3PT through 7 games. Kevin Durant is only averaging 20.8ppg. He rarely commands the ball and when he does get the ball, he often ignore my screen and goes into crazy dribble mode, causing him to either step out of bounds or get stripped. Thank god Westbrook is playing well, though Durant does get hot in 4th quarter more than often enough.

How do you edit the shot the shot tendency for your team mates?

go to rosters and edit player.

I finally got traded to the team I was looking for(Rockets). I think it is indeed right that you need to be in the opposite conference(knicks-east) and request trade to whatever team(Rockets) you want to go.

I get maybe 6 shot attempt credits in a game, plus get fouled on 3-4 other handles, but can't get more than 5 rebounds to save my life even if I get the 'good box out' increase on a missed shot.. the guy I'm boxing out gets it nearly every time.

I was drafted by the 76ers..and the game doesn't seem to like them at all this year.. 15 turnovers a game, mostly players dribbling to the baseline, standing there dribbling then they're out of bounds. I guess I really need to get my teammate chemistry to 90 or so quick because I only get docked for calling for the ball even if wide open.
Rebounding is hit or miss. You will get you 4-7 rbs that were gimmies...nobody around. Then the next 6-8 you have perfect position. This will come with experience. Then there are the times the computer has the ball bounce away/over/through you and there is nothing you can do about it. Played 6 minutes against Golden State and they had 10 offensive rebounds. I just rolled my eyes and quit the game. Call it cheating...but I save during the game because I know there will be a point in the game where the computer will crank up the opponents's stats enough to make me lose every open ball...lose every block out...miss every shot....just so the game will be close. Hey, if the guy manages to maneuver around me and snatch the ball...nice play. However, the ball bouncing 12 feet from the basket twice in a row when I have the guy blocked out solid at 10 feet....all when they are making a run?

My PF has max rb skills and the appropriate signature skills. He averages 17/g at the moment in 25 min.

Some of the offensive rebounds are scripted events. If you ever see an opponent positioning himself under the backboard and slightly to the side, 9 out of 10 times, he is going to get the offensive board. You just can't box him out from that angle.

Recovery time for a missed rebound or shot contest is pretty bad too. I had a game against the Nuggets where Faried and Hickson got 8 offensive boards in the same possession just missing their little bunnies over and over again. I could recover in time to contest the shot, but then the other guy would grab the board, I'd contest, the other guy would grab the board, etc. Meanwhile, my teammate grade is getting dinged over and over again for "allow offensive rebound."

Yesterday shot clock cheese was everywhere, lol.

Against the Magic I passed to Davis with 1 second left and he wins it!

Against the Suns, I posted up Shannon Brown, spinned, and made a contested layup!

So from what I've heard, the all around sg is the most versatile one. Wish I knew that earlier, now it's too late because of all that vc I've earned was so much work. Anyway, so if anyone is looking for a very versatile player or what not go with all around sg.

CPU playcalling and passing needs a second look from devs. Any play that has a pass from the top of the key to the wings will break. Any play that has a pass from top of the key to the high post will break. The AI needs to force these passes more often. Westbrook is incapable of making an entry pass to Durant at the high post, even when they are only 4 feet apart.
