It seems like there is no way to make the game play right for the Magic. 2k is pretty bad at modeling "unconventional" styles of basketball.

Oh, and it is impossible to stop Big Z. I can't beat the Heat at all with the Magic, mainly because of the role players shooting far too well. Ilgauskus almost always shoots close to 100% with that close to mid-ranged jumper of his.

Think about it though, 85% of the rebounds in this game are defensive rebounds (i.e. come from missed shots). If they are shooting the NBA AVG for FGA 81, and hit 40 (near 50% FG%, which is what it was with 3.5), there are only 41 rebounds available, 85% of that is 35 defensive rebounds. That is all that is available defensively if a computer opponent shoots just under 50%. If they shoot over 50%, less are available. They don't just disappear, and the computer will always come in with 15% ORR over a period of time.

It will straighten out as the CPU starts shooting worse and they will.

Yeah, I think you've hit on a very important point. Orlando has always tended to be more than the sum or their parts. SVG does a really good job. And, you have Dwight who reaches the free throw line 10+ times a game, which usually leads the league. And, you have 3-pt gunners who keep them in games they shouldn't be in. And, they always are the lowest in the league at shot attempts from what 2k calls "mid-range". They play a low pressure, positional defense with good help.

It is a very specific model of winning and hard to duplicate in a video game.

Love these sliders but the rebounding is indeed a bit off. Jrich is averaging 9 a game while Dwight only 7.

This is after 13 games in...

Put D Rebounds on 100. It's not like it's going to hurt anything.

                Mills 15 points 1 stl

This was a pretty bad game on my part. Roy got into early foul trouble. I just couldn't get the offense going the whole game as seen with the low FG%. They were pretty bad shot selections. My defense can't stop them from raining 3 as Fields, Williams, and Gallinari were unstoppable from beyond the arc even with guys in their face. Some complain is that Amare didn't feel like Amare as the knicks barely run offense through him. Maybe because I was doubling him down low. Also maybe less fouls. I am getting too much down low shooting foul. I think i need to get used to these new changes. But I am liking it so far. Finally less turnovers from bad passes.

It's clear; same settings for HUM/CPU won't work on AS.

(I was wrong, you conspiracy theorists may have been right)

i said this same thing several weeks back. with both HUM & CPU Sliders set at equal, the CPU will always have an advantage in certain aspects(sliders) in NBA2K11.

im glad u noticed this greenie. ill try 3.6 tonight to see the difference.

Yes I agree and I trust the CPU shooting worse as association progresses. I see other people having good numbers in rebounds, so I'll keep going on with these settings. Maybe I'll post some stats every 5 game to have a look at some averages.

Of all the players in the Orlando team only 3 or 4 have a very good mid range jumper rating. All the others excel in 3pt and inside but not in between. I adapted to this style and it's when I started to win. And that's why now I'm getting fouled so much. If the 3pt is not available I have to go for the close/inside. The only options I have on mid range are Nelson, Arenas, Williams and some Bass. All the others shoot better in different positions.

Wow thanks my friend. If you decide to change something in the future I'm sure everyone will come here and follow your advice after ther great job done on this set.

Really appreciate what you did so far, and everyone (me too) learned A LOT on this thread about NBA2K sliders. I will stick in this thread and post some association impressions, because this has become a small community of serious simmers who I trust.

Have fun everyone! And gather here again a week after NBA2K12 hit the stores, eh eh.

And post stats of winning games, they keep me going when I lose too much, ah ah. Just joking...
