Re: Sim-World Roster Project Sliders - CPU/CPU and Player Lock
Been using these with the association sim roster & the game plays fantastically well. Using the Heat & player-locking as whichever one of the Big Three I fancy, depending on who is on the court.
Beat the Lakers 96-90 with LeBron going OFF for 45.
Keep it up!Comment

Re: Sim-World Roster Project Sliders - CPU/CPU and Player Lock
I play as the Bulls and the Lakers were a toughest matchup out of the last few games I've played. I've recently blown the Pistons out by 20, beat the Wizards and Clippers, and lost to the Lakers and Magic in tough games.
The Lakers were just hard to gameplan for defensively since you can't really double either Gasol or Bynum in the post, doubles on Kobe aren't enough if he's hitting the fadeaway, and as the PG leaving Fisher wide open beyond the arc to help on D is a recipe to get torched from outside. Plus it was hard to consistently get to the rim with Rose when both Gasol and Bynum were on the court together. I think the Lakers were +15 with Gasol/Bynum/Kobe on the floor and like -10 without them.
The Magic just got hot from behind the arc on us and hit 13/24 from three. Once that started, we couldn't send the doubles to Dwight anymore and that meant game over. He had 5 AST in the first half on kick outs from double teams, then dominated in the paint in the second half to finish with almost a triple double (28 Pts, 14 Rebs, 8 Asts, 2 Blks).
These games were with the new sliders and the major changes were getting Offensive Awareness right for User and CPU (+5 User/-5 CPU), Hands (+1 User), Pass Accuracy (+1 User), Consistency (+5 User), and Play Passing Lanes (-1 CPU). The stats I'm getting are the best sim stats I've had in any mode so far with 2K12.Comment

Re: Sim-World Roster Project Sliders - CPU/CPU and Player Lock
@youalreadyknow, I'm on PC and can't use you rosters but I consider you the biggest expert in sliders/tendencies, so I'd like to ask you if you don't mind:
I like watching CPU vs CPU games and I'm seeing "star" players and outside players shoot too much. So I'm trying to achieve more post play and more shot distribution across the team with limited success. What I've done - look for post players to 100 in sliders and coach profiles, reduced touches for best players and increased touches for big men, increased inside and close tend, reuduce mid and 3 pt. for pf/c players. But still not satisfied, players like Monta, Durant, Kobe and such seem to go wild and end up using 50% of plays. Do you have some advice what to do? Thanx in advance

If you don't want to spend a lot of time tweaking rosters, then the best thing to do may be to set the Run Plays coach profile to 80-100 for all teams and ensure that less freelancing occurs. Freelancing is typically dominated by guards. Then go take a look at vannwolfhawk's playbook thread and implement his playbooks on your PC roster.
The default playbooks that ship with the game have far too many Post Up Low plays that are really Pick-N-Post option plays which almost never result in a post entry pass. You will think that the team is never calling plays for the PF/C, but in reality the plays are just not ending in the way you would expect.
For a mode like CPU/CPU, sliders are probably the LEAST significant aspect of gameplay. Rosters, including coach profiles and playbooks, are the most important.Last edited by youALREADYknow; 03-15-2012, 10:08 AM.Comment

Re: Sim-World Roster Project Sliders - CPU/CPU and Player Lock
So I got curious and wanted to try the player-lock sliders in a user vs. CPU game. Game was played with quick play roster. Utah (CPU) at Detroit (USER). Game got into triple OT before the CPU ran out of gas and I won it by 8 points.
All I can say is WOW! I didn't adjust tactics and such as I just wanted to get a quick feel for how the sliders played... But I must say I'm absolutely impressed by the results. Almost all stats looked spot on. I guess the best word to describe it would be organic. Nothing felt scripted. CPU made mistakes. Both teams got into double digit TOs. Both teams had double digit off. rebounds. I could go on and on here!!
The only thing I saw in the game I played that annoyed me a bit was the CPU transition defense. Even when I got a defensive rebound I was often able to create a 3 on 1 fast break. I know Utah like to crash the offensive boards, but Detroit only has a fast break slider at 45... So I kinda had to decide not to run breaks when I got rebounds and only run on TOs. But again, this is just from one game so take it for what it's worth
I recommend these to everyone who feels that the CPU sometimes can feel a bit overpowered and too effective with Ronyell's sliders.Success is temporary - Loyalty means forever

Since I play Player Lock mostly the fast break issue isn't as exaggerated, but I already know the solution to that problem for User/CPU games (CPU Def Awr +5 should get the CPU back in better position in transition D and on weakside rotations). Teams like the Jazz with 100 Crash Boards and a lack of speed on the wings will usually have the weakest transition defense.
I've still had sim stats and gameplay each and every game on Player Lock. Just got blown out by the Heat (Wade was unstoppable) and then blew out the Bobcats since their second unit was so terrible.
If you can post some game stats next game or give some more feedback for User/CPU then thanks in advance!Comment

Re: Sim-World Roster Project Sliders - CPU/CPU and Player Lock
That issue is mostly tied to rosters and playbooks, not sliders. If Touches (tendency) are distributed properly, Coach Profiles are accurate for how the team plays, and the playbooks are set to give the right kinds of Post Up Low entry passes then big men get their touches and shots.

Just one more question-besides broken plays and turnovers, does something else breaks a play, a too high tendency of pg perhaps or some slider?
Also, once a designated player gets the ball (the one who a play is called for) does he automatically shoot or does some tendency/situation cause him to pass the ball out? Cause I often see a big guy in the post go for a shot but then suddenly pass out although all centers have attack 100 and pass out 0.Comment

Thanks for the feedback! I've been waiting for someone to give me some User/CPU impressions.

so does this means you are reccomending us to adjust "CPU Def Awr +5" ??
I'm going to play @ Philly right now with every set according to your settings.
but I change Defensive assits strength to 50 instead of how u have it at 40.
I feel like having it at 40 leaves too much room for user mistakes as to the CPU not making any mistakes on D.
any thoughts on this?"It's about damn time... It's about damn time.” - LeBron JamesComment

This only impacts the player you have control over, not the other 4 defenders on the court.
I'd recommend only bumping CPU Defensive Awareness +5 for User/CPU games (not Player Lock) and going with every other setting that's listed.Comment

The one and only way that I could get fast breaks for me (CPU Team mates as well) was when I gave myself a +5 or better quickness advantage.
Would raising CPU Def Awr +5 be a standard setting for all teams? Or could you go + or - depending on the weakness or stength of a teams transition D?GT: BIG CAROLINA23

Re: Sim-World Roster Project Sliders - CPU/CPU and Player Lock
Being a player lock player only in all sports games that have the option (PG in NBA), this is the thread for me. I had no idea this thread even existed and even when I found it it was an accident (meant to be I guess).

The problem in User/CPU that I found is that you could just pass the ball to the weak side of the transition defense every time you had a speed advantage and the reaction times rendered the defense helpless to recover. The Defensive Awareness sliders control most of the "psychic" and quick-twitch reactions by the defense and they are lowered in these sliders for the CPU to enable iso moves and dribble penetration to be possible without those typical psychic 2K reactions.Comment

Re: The NBA 2K12 "SiM-WoRLD Roster Project (for 360)
yAk, u have FT Difficulty set at 55 & FT shooting set at "Shot Stick Timing"… I can't seem to sink FTs on a consistent basis. even with Bosh & Chalmers who are the best FT shooters on the Heat team… any suggestion or explanation on this?
I have set FT Shooting to "Player %". that seems to be the only way I can confidently sink free throws.
should I just man up & focus on FTs a bit more & practice? or ???"It's about damn time... It's about damn time.” - LeBron JamesComment

I like the User control of being able to hit/miss critical foul shots in the 4th because the last thing I want is to have the excuse that "the CPU robbed me" in critical situations.
Since I play Player Lock, I'm only controlling 1-2 players free throws so it's easier for me to learn their rhythm. For User/CPU, Real Player % makes more sense.
How are your games turning out with these sliders?Comment
