I have set FT Shooting to "Player %". that seems to be the only way I can confidently sink free throws.

should I just man up & focus on FTs a bit more & practice? or ???
I had the same issue with FT's and when I saw I could hardly hit FT's with Steph Curry I dropped it down to 45 and this seems good for me.

The highest FT % I have seen in about 7 games with the Warriors is 88%

that's cool dropping down to 45 FT difficulty, but I don't want to tweak any sliders.

Unless you have a ton of attempts per player to use as a sample size then it's impossible to state accurately what slider level is "correct" for you. FT Difficulty is a very user-specific slider so I think it's best for every person to have their own comfort level. Real Player % is the way to go for true simulation statistics.

I have doubts though that you'll stay at 45 once you get comfortable with every player's release points. I started at 50 back in Oct/Nov and had trouble making free throws and now I'm pretty consistent at 55.

I am not saying it's correct for me forever, but for right now, it's correct for me. I was not telling him to use 45 with real player %, I was just simply telling him what helped me get to my comfort level.

I may not be a slider guru, but I do know that there is no one size fits all slider set no matter the sample size.

Re: Sim-World Roster Project Sliders - CPU/CPU and Player Lock

It's honestly impossible to hold the cpu to under 60 % fg in with your slider set. Do most people use HOF is that the reason? I did what you said on my previous thread set double team to never and screen to over on shooters and under on non shooters didnt do anything my defenders still cant close out at all and when the cpu drives automatic foul or 2 points please help i want to enjoy this game.

.u guys just motivated me to just keep practicing on my FT's… my goal is to use the exact same settings/sliders as yAK but being that he plays strictly player lock & I don't, I might have to slightly tweak certain sliders to get better sim stats.

so far only tweaks I've made have been suggested by yAk. CPU defensive awareness +5, & Defensive assist strength +5.

yAk, playing with these sliders I've noticed that CPU doesn't attack on offense enough therefore not getting to the FT line as often.

maybe that's due to me always playing as Miami & driving a lot with Bron & Wade.

any suggestion on this? maybe I'm just nitpicking lol

The sliders are meant for HOF and won't work the same on any other level. Difficulty changes the base levels and relative User/CPU difference between sliders.

I have not allowed 60% in any single game and have explained a lot of my defensive strategy in the other thread for you. Maybe just get used to your personnel on defense and practice some more specifically on your on-ball and off-ball defense.

If you are allowing 60% then that is just so far away from what I've experienced and others have experienced that it has to be due to your ability or habits defensively. Try checking out some of Da_Czar's videos on defensive strategies to get some tips.

I wish I could tell you more than that but without watching you play it's hard.

The Heat play a ton of help defense and have a lot of quickness on the floor to recover so I think you're seeing the correct gameplay with teams not being able to dribble penetrate to the rim often.

Your box scores look good for the most part so I'd keep at it.

YAK, these sliders are good with this roster, but how do I kept the CPU from so many ff attempts. I'm seeing teams like Boston attempt over 90shot attempts. Any tips on how to keep the tempo down with out lowering the game speed?

wanted to log on for the first time since making this account probably to thank you for your hard work on this slider set, and everyone involved for their work on the sim world roster.

i use them for player lock USER v CPU, and even USER v USER games with a friend of mine after a few tweaks and get realistic results on a very consistent basis. truly helps make this game 10x better.

Trust me it's not impossible. It's not easy...you have to work but it's definitely not impossible. I've been able to hold the CPU teams under 50 pretty consistently. But, you really have to mix things up and use all that's at your disposal to be successful.

                          1) If you play a team that likes to get out and run, turn your crash boards down so your guys get back on D.

                          2) I like to double down in the post from the weak side if I'm playing against a guy with good low post skills or bad passer rating. You have to mix it up though because if you do it too much the CPU will adjust.

                          3) Mix up how you guard scorers. If you start out on "moderate" to guard either the drive or the shot...change it up after a while by guarding them tight.

                          4) On ball defense is on you...stick skills on display.

                          5) Scout tendencies of the other team.

Well since Yak is out from now on. What should I do to contiunue this great experience he's created over the months. I still have the recent rosters without the trade updates. Will it be a good idea if I just use the default 2k rosters with his sliders?.

What kind of experience will that bring?. What are you other users doing to keep the sim ball rolling?

I had the same issue did this sliders and my teams stats were fine but the other team was lights out, infact the cavs got up on me by 33 at one point i was like wtf is going on here, I think when a team rebounds and outlets pretty fast and gets into 3 on 2 and 2 on 1 fast breaks, i need to lower crash boards and maybe even lower their fast break, I know its kinda cheap to mess with the other teams coaching profiles, but maybe ill just try and see what it does.. or just worry about my own, at half on the Cavs they were shooting 59% which isnt to unreal, but i was at like 38 lol.. and i was like ok is it cause of the level of difficulty, gosh forbid me to put it on HOF.. but i play the Spurs next so we will see.. if things get to crazy by halftime i end up just simming the 2nd half
