I wouldn't call it smack down, there are screen shot results for past RC vs this one. Fact is, higher tiers in this one had less competition than ever before. Like i said, i got 3rd while really slacking off and not buying a single HS. The normal "top 10" generally speaking aren't there and replace by those (generally) in the top 25 last time and even their paces were a lot lower than last time.

Even if you look at the rewards, this time the rewards for top 150 isn't all that different than last RC (small upgrades from 26 - 150) but for top 25+, the rewards are pretty much the SAME except you get 2x 2k players vs 1x 2.5k + 1x 1.6k player (last time). While lower tiers all got decent upgrades... thus again more incentive to finish 151-650 than top 25. Add to the fact 151 only required 9k points (i think a few of us got there by Wednesday night/Thursday morning so its doable in 1 day) vs 25k.

Yes previous RC numbers were higher, but you're really comparing apples to oranges. What happened in previous RC events really have no bearing on the current or future events. Not only the cards were different this time around, strategies had to obvious be adjusted and as you mentioned the players changed too. As I mentioned before WayneMaker did as much as he had to to win the last RC event and you should pretty expect as much for the next one.

Im a vet. 22k wins. Can some of the other vets please stop talking to these new commers who think their the ****. I play alot during rivals, ppg is only maybe 400, so you dont see me on the top 50, ever. Can we all stop talking **** until next rivals where twista, monarch, etc. will step it up and kick all of your new commers asses. And new commers. Just stop lol

Alright, I asked NWGD about their reasoning behind Walton being worse than Clyde yet requiring more work. He said "Walton is as good or better than single Clyde" and when comparing pro Clyde and Walton "most pros will beat most of the tiers above. Always been that way" Old rivals were in the legendary tier and new rivals are in the playoffs tier, heres how his theory works: Most epic pros should beat old rivals and most legend pros should beat Walton. Here are the numbers:

Number of Legendary Pro's that beat Walton: All except 2, Yao and Mullin (maybe Macy and Mutombo, haven't seen their pros)

Numbers of Epic Pro's that beat the old Rivals:
MJ - 0
Kobe - 0
KD - 0
Duncan - 0
Ewing - 1
Dirk - 13 (since his stats were a joke)

Like i said, i'm comparing his competition or lack there of. That's why history matters as you can compare the competition level then. Also i'm not directing comparing his score to other scores, i'm comparing his PACE to others in past event. Basically what type of score he could put up if pushed and realistically, some of the vets can do better than him and quite easily pass him. Monarch finished 11th without HS and normally he would buy HS so if he did, he could have finished first.

I have no doubt if the vets stay away and he keeps his wallet open, he'll win all RC going forward. I have no intention on buying HS to challenge him. Like i said, i didn't even try to push him, i was happy being locked down for a top 10 slot. I was only playing a few games while watching LA/OKC game (kinda became a habit to play while watching). If things keep going as is, i won't have to spend a penny and will have top 10 locked down by Friday every RC... can't really complain about that tho the debate is do i want to lock down a top 10 spot by friday or just take a 151 - 650 spot and be done by Thursday without playing another RC game the rest of the week.

I still haven't drafted a legendary yet... 20k wins before patch, 8k since (rough numbers 28k wins total).

They won't say, but based on how often they are being drafted now it's around a factor of 5
