This is an artificial way to prolong the game. Adding content prolongs the game. This is the lazy way to make the game longer.

The new game mode is new content?

What I don't understand is why 1st place playoff winners earn the same rewards as those below in the standings?

Why not give finals winners an instant pro'd player card from their respective tiers in addition to the 400 credits?

Ah, you most certainly are. I knew I wasn't the only one with a nose that worked. So I must ask, who do you think you are fooling, "sagelike"?

For a user that just made an account on this forum about an hour ago, you sure know how to use the boards well. I mean, italics, bolding, and sympathizing with us fellow "Players" you know nothing about. I mean, honestly, who plays this game the way you describe, and then when an update comes along you really shouldn't have known much about, you decide to create an account and really really detail that this update isn't "that bad."

Some gems from our fellow "Forum Member":

Yes, just like any mobile game where you can pay money to speed things up-Snake

I don't mind the feedback and don't take it personally. I just want you to understand some of the thought process in the changes so you see why we did what we did.


I disagree that the values stated for cards isn't speculative. It absolutely is because for cards to become Credits they have to sell. That's a big piece you're overlooking. A big complaint during the Beta was that many cards did not sell, so saying your Star cards are worth x Credits just isn't true. Where as, Credits won in Season games now are definitive and something that is guaranteed. It is also something free players have an opportunity to gain Credits without using the Daily VC Bonus. The added benefit of the Credits as a Season reward is that it will infuse Credits into the AH economy allowing more cards to sell. A win for players on both ends.


I get on the surface it looks like a huge nerf to Season rewards, but in the long run I think players will come to appreciate getting guaranteed Credits for winning Seasons (or placing in the top 4).

You can sit there and say it's speculative all you want, but to 100% of players out there, winning a Star season that nets you two extra star cards is absolutely worth more than 400 credits. They could sell ONE of those star cards for a lot more than 400 and still have this so-called "flexibility."

I was going to sell my $50,000 Cadillac but it might not sell so I will take $4,000 instead, cause cash is cash, right?

I was 3 hours away from winning 2 Legendaries in my season...if it is less than that now, I am done.

I believe the Apple store is required to refund $ to people if the game developers change/alter the way the game is played if you have paid $$$ into the game. I will do everything I can to get my $$$ back and move on to something else.

Good. If they keep it up they won't have to artificially make the game longer by reducing season rewards. If there is a constant stream of new content than there is no reason to "slow down".

So many things already been said, I dont really get why anybody should use currency to buy boosts during seasons?
if we assume nooone of the semi-finalists had any boosts left and all 4 gonna battle the hell out of their Decks just to Win the Championship each of the Players invests at least 200 bucks during semis and another 200 during finals. thats 1200 ingame currency (at least!).

the rewards get those 4 players 4 Stars and summed up 1000 ingame currency... Vs. 7 Stars and 2 leg Till today.

Why not just extracting those boosts from the game, they are more or less worthless and just a waste of currency at least when you have to buy them...
Im gonna aim for one star in my next season and won't mind whats happening during quarter, semi and the finals. Its just not worth it in my eyes...

At the very least, they should get rid of the listing fee for UNSOLD cards. No real problem with a tax fee on sold cards, but if they really want people to take part in Auction House more, don't scare them away by having listing fees.

I mean who is gonna want to list their card when there's a chance they might not sell it and then end up LOSING credits because nobody wanted to buy it? If there wasn't any sort of listing fee, people would be more active on Auction House.

Yes, you can get refunds on in-app purchases if the developer moves the goalposts. CD/2K are vindictive though, so expect to be perma-banned from any other games you own by them on any platform.

For me the choice is to get my money back from Apple and lose access to every 2K game in my STEAM library (which is almost every 2K game available), or to just eat their B$ bait and switch, OR invest my time and money into going after them in small claims court.

And I presume once I win a judgment against them in Small Claims court, they will also do everything they can to avoid paying the judgment, and if I put enough pressure on them to get them to do so, they will also go the vindictive route and revoke all my game licenses on STEAM, forcing me into more costly legal action.

They essentially are betting that I (and others) won't feel like it is worth the hassle to go through all of that. I'm seriously considering doing so on principle and because I can afford it and because seeing a company pay dearly for its greed would be its own reward.
