    Re: Your GPUs?

Will likely get this for the PC over christmas. I am about to buy a new laptop with the following specs:

    i7 4th generation

geforce GTX 850 2gb graphics card.

Would really appreciate any comments as to how this laptop would likely play 2K15. Could it handle max settings? Cheers.

Not sure it's worth a separate thread, but I'm also interested to hear people's soundcards.

I suspect most people just roll with onboard? I tend to do that these days, but I'm sure there are probably decent value cards out there that improve the audio experience.

Onboard soundcards are very decent on recent motherboards. Maybe for making a professional studio its worth to get premium dedicated sound card.

It'll handle the game great but I don't know about max settings. I have a laptop with an GT 840m (certainly weaker as a GTX 850m, but not that far off) and I'm solidly on medium settings. That's without 1080p or antialiasing too.

So I picked NBA2K15 up yesterday at Walmart in the $10 bin. (it was a download from steam card) Runs great on my comp. I have:

                  Intel i7 4390 no OC
                  nVidia gtx 770
                  16 gb ram

It was a system I bought in the fall from Ibuypower. So far has handled everything and anything Ive played on it at max settings.

Can't believe you were able to find the game for $10 barely two months after release! That's just amazing. Bonus points for having a rig that I'm sure makes the game look fantastic.

Thanks, Yeah I was stoked. There were several of those Steam NBA2K15 PC cards in the bin. So Im sure a few other people got the deal as well. I also got like 10 Blurays for $3 a piece. I'm playing the game with a wired Xbox 360 controller. Im going to get a wired PS3 controller to try as I like the feel of that in my hands better than the 360 controller. The games looks amazing and every bit as good as it does on my PS4 if not a little smoother in some spots. I have no stuttering or slow down and shot animations and rebound animations look amazing.

Running a i5 4690k and a GTX 970 with 16gb ram. Runs everything maxed no issues as you would imagine.

Bought a Radeon 280 and it plays the game perfectly in max settings with a dell ultra hd monitor. Thanks for the advice on this thread
