If you're going to lie about a reason to edit and lock my thread, I think it's good to let everyone know about it here. No reason for you to have to protect yourself here in front of everyone else... Oh, and by the way, you have posted in several of those threads with scores in the title, and didnt think it was prudent to edit or lock those -- just mine.

Did it occur to you that half those threads in the NBA Live forum that you linked to were locked?

Look man, I'm sorry if you're taking personal offense to this, but it's standard to lock threads about reviews that have already been posted. As for the title, you're right; it has been overlooked in some threads. Again, I'm just doing the best I can with regards to that.

Again, final warning. Please handle this in a private matter with either Sully or myself. This thread is devoted to discussion of the review.

IGN hates EA Sports, this is nothing new. I don't care either, Im still gonna be keeping this game when it comes.

Hmmm...I thought this title was shaping up decent. I may have to play that demo on XBox Live before I make a purchase, after that review. If someone is frustrated to give a game a 5.9, it can't be good!!!

I must say i am shocked at the rating, but it seems that the low score was due to the many options that are missing (Freestlye Superstar, Dynasty, All-Star Week-end) I would be happy with 2005 with a WOW factor. I wasn't to keen on the freestyle superstar abilities any ways.

The thing that gets me, is that if you read the "impressions" posted here, most people seem to be pleasantly surprised with it? I am willing to give up a dynasty, and some of the other features for this year...I wonder if the mere ommision of that stuff, brought the score down that low?

He did say it was one of the prettiest games on the 360, noted the great crowd and atmosphere, mentioned that it was more sim oriented, and really only griped about how the players lacked emotion, dynasty was left out, and the camera angles (which is personal preference anyway?)....maybe I will give this game a shot afterall.

Still a discouraging review, however, I guess I'll reserve the judgement for myself. If nothing else, it may be fun to create some Historic custom teams with the awesome CAP!!!! This alone may make it worth a purchase.

this review does not really talk about gameplay and stuff. kind of hard to decide based on this. he only talks bout the negative. he also says live has the best player models.... IMO i have to disagree (by looking at video and screen shots). The players do not look in proportion to real life bodies and also it looks kinda cartoonish (again, IMO)

having played the game, i will honestly say it is sub-par.. when i heard the 5.9 rating i was shocked, i didnt think ti was THAT bad.. but man the gameplay is like live 2004.. with good arenas ( i dont tihnk the player models look all that great myself)...

the pace of the game is sooo slow.. comparing it to a SIM would be appaling
There are points in the game where you press turbo and your guy goes into slow motion... the gameplay is severly lacking..

Exactly, NBA Live 2005 with better graphics is fine. Basically they gave it that score for the missing features which we all know about already.

You can't be serious. IGN routinely rates almost ALL games higher than they should, especially EA sports games. This is the same company that gave Master of Orion 3 a 9.something. Gimme a break.

IGN scores:

Live 2005: 8.8
Live 2004: 8.7
Live 2003: 8.5

And in my mind, NONE of those scores reflected what the game played like.

Anyway, ths review was pretty brutal. But if IGN says a game is bad, you can pretty much take that to the bank.

Or back to the game shop, whichever.
