The only thing I like about the 2K models are the skins textures. I think that the faces and skins tones are off more often than not. Also, the textures of the head/wrist/arm bands still look like they belong on the XBOX version. The hair needs a lot of work too, especially with corn rows. Honestly, the corn rows looked better on NBA 2K2 for the Dreamcast. When it comes to the player's skin textures and cloth physics, I think 2K has the Upper hand, but as far as faces, body types, and accessories, Live has the upper hand (IMO). I love both games though, and like anything, there are good and bad things about both titles, graphically and otherwise.

Re: IGN's New Interview
Key thing is when did those screenshots come out for 2K7??? Games (even EA's games) are notorious for releasing pictures early that are targets to achieve when the game finally gets shipped... rarely do they achieve those levels, but they do a good job getting close...
thing is, those could definetely be target pictures, and 2K7 might not even be up to that point yet.
If I'm wrong... they look darn sweet.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Secondly, I don't hate Live, I'm disappointed in EA for their lack of effort.
I've never hated Live, just hated what EA continues to do the series, making in run down hill.
And I'm a 30 year old man, trying to spread some little knowledge, my energy will flow as I please, its a forum my friend. We chat and discuss things about games, so don't turn this into a fanboy garbage thread....
Maybe you should view my gamertag, and see that I play all 2k and EA's sports titles every year. Its not my fault, that so far. For almost 3 to 4 years. 2ksports and Visual Concepts seems to be doing a better job.

Originally posted by aholbert32I wouldnt go as far as to say its no contest. Especially with the courts. 2K7 doesnt even have every authentic arena and I thought that Live's arenas were the best ive ever seen.
I got Live 06 on 360, and all those stadiums weren't authentic...only about 13 of them, the rest were generic, with touches here and there to make them look flashy...but people were so focused on bad camera angles and slow gameplay, they over looked that..
Live 06 stadiums weren't 100% accurate either. At least 2k is trying to do that, on top of great gameplay and presentation....Comment

I also noticed ORL's ceiling looked just like MSG's ceiling. I could be wrong, but I dont think they look exactly alike.Comment

Re: IGN's New Interview
Originally posted by aholbert32I should have clarified. They had every arena that could be used. Boston has a generic arena in every basketball game. As for Orlando's arena, I dont remember the roof but if it looked like MSG thats wrong. I do remember that the first floor and the scoreboards were correct. I'm not concerned with either game getting every detail right about an arena. Just not outright generics like 2K6 had.
Agreed, and there was no excuse for that. That was EA's problem in the days past.Comment

PLAYER MODELS: NBA 2k7 (XBOX 360)
NBA LIVE 2007 (XBOX 360)
COURTS AND STADIUMS: NBA 2k7 (XBOX 360)
NBA LIVE 2007 (XBOX 360)
They both look Next-Gen...but Hands down give 2ksports their props, they looked the most advance for the 11 months its been...
I'm not sure what's your point?
I mean honestly both games look pretty damn good so graphics won't be a problem in either game that's why I don't understand what point your trying to prove.
The gameplay is what will count the most because trust me only a blind man couldn't see the beauty in either games graphical engine. Maybe you don't like the player models in Live I don't know and personally don't care. But those graphics aren't going to hurt gameplay one bit IMO.
I guess some people expect greatness and if it's not perfect they'll be unhappy or unsatisfied. Well you can always watch the real NBA for perfect player models..........:wink:NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Re: IGN's New Interview
only thing i notice about the graphics that i sorta dislike is the light placement
rarely do you see lighting around the bowl
.. usually its at the top of the arena like so
the whole arm argument, or ankle size, or stuff like that.. it all gets lost when the game is played atleast for me. its definetly important and should be a priority but sometimes its all about gameplay. that how it is for meLast edited by RubenDouglas; 08-16-2006, 04:25 PM.Comment
