After reading Steve's impressions, I'm super hyped about the game. I can't wait to play it.

You could be right, but its just not like them to not advertise. That's been their niche.

One video with choppy animations for PR damage control and thats all. That is something i'd expect from 2K marketing and dismiss it as normal, but not here.

Yea we'd usually see 1 of EA's spectacular highlight trailers showing off highlightes like various dunks, dunks lay-ups and passes. Those usually impress the hell outta me.

Havent even seen 1 of those yet for next gen. I just think they're putting in half assed efforts for the 360 sports titles. Strictly my opinion of course, but in the case of Live the gameplay videos Ive seen look like some N64 type animations,lol. Look at the dunks and the lay-ups,SMH.

i havent seen one solid gameplay video or any real hope. hope comes from developers talking to us and telling us stuff. or ign getting tons of new info

N64 animations? Come on now. Some of the animations looked bad but not that bad.

Seriously man they are that terrible for such a powerful system. The best animations are the jumpshot animations. Those are the best animations Ive seen for the game so I'll give them credit for those. As far as lay-ups and dunks they remind me of N64 or PS1 style animations.

I gotta disagree there. The layup animations are on par if not better than NBA 2k7. Now the transition and dribbling animations suck and the game is really choppy but that PS1 comparison is a bit of a stretch.

I'm trying to give EA every chance to impress me with NBA Live, but it's awfully tough after getting 5 or 6 half-games of full games of 2k7 over at IGN. NBA Live needs to show us a half or full game, so I can see if it can compete.

If they both look solid, I'll go with NBA Live. If EA keeps holding out, I might have to snag up 2k7 for the first time of my life.

GTFOH man ,lmao. Did you not see that layup felton did on the bobcats vs rockets video? You must be thinking of Live 06, cmon man. I havent seen any lay-up animation in 2k7 that poorly animated. Look @ that video again man. Can you still honestly tell me 2k7 has an animation that poor? Hell Live 06 looks worlds better than this game.

I've never known EA to have bad layups or Dunk animations. I just think too many guy's haven't seen what they want so of course instead of just waiting for the game to be viewed up close by themselves they will make up their own pre-game analysis.

I heard the same thing about Madden and NCAA how certain things sucked based on video footage or pictures and though neither game is perfect they still look and play much better than half the posters who bashed them before release over the animations & gameplay.

Look @ the topic. How come this forum seems dead? All we have to go on is the videos we've been given. If the dunk/lay-up animations look terrible thats what it is. Look @ the felton lay-up. The tracy mcgrady dunks in the movement video. Why shouldnt I wanna see smooth next gen animations for my next gen system? Those are flat out terrible.

Do I expect EA to release this garbage? Hell nah I damn sure hope not. NBA Live has had some great lay-up and dunk animations in the past and I dont see why it would change now. It has to be a really early copy despite IGN saying it was 90%. If not thats just terrible.

Yes I can. The layup animations in Live 07 are basically the same as the ones in 07 so if you thought Live 06's layup animations were good then Live 07 is the same.

I think 2K7 is the better game by far but lets not be blind. They still have that ugly backwards layup animation, sliding and there are still way too many jump passes in 2K7 from the videos i've seen.

As for Live 06 looking better than this game lets be real. Live 06 looked and played like **** out of the box and so does Live 07. One thing I noticed about Live 06 and the same seems to be the case for 07, is that the reason the game looks choppy is that EA always sets the game speed to high (because thats what arcade fans want). I will be suprised if the game looks this choppy after the game speed is adjusted but who knows.

With that said, I'm buying both so I can look at this without bias. 2K7 looks like the better game but 07 doesnt look or feel like a N64 game. Thats just ridiculous.

Im not even going to compare Live to 2k7 because in my honest opinion its not even fair. Im comparing Live 06 to Live 07 off of what Ive seen so far.

The reason I dont recognize the felton lay-up is because its not in the game,lmao. Ive had Live since a few days after launch when I picked it up used. Ive never seen that layup. Ive played the video in slow motion its just not there my friend. He starts off on the left side, floats to the right side and lays it up with his left hand. Ive NEVER seen this in Live 06 360.

Maybe I should correct myself. Its the fluidity of the animations Im talking about. It reminds me so much of PS1/N64 era. I just looked at some old NBA In The Zone clips for N64 and Im not seeing much of a difference in animation fluidity, honestly,lol. Im pretty sure EA will clean this up. As up right now the ball doesnt even drop thru the hoop as smoothly as 06. Maybe its the game speed, hell if I know. While the gamespot feature did look slightly better, it wasnt by much. The game looks terrible compared to Live 06 animation wise. Im not even bringing 2k7 up.
