They got some ratings way off, especially some defensive ratings, and something like Arenas being 79 in mid-range shooting, but I can't look through all that. I have to say the depth of ratings is impressive, they have a lot of intangible things.
I've wrote to them for years to differentiate between quickness, first step quickness and lateral quickness. Some guys are quick on offense, but their lateral quickness is weak due to having a high C of gravity. So guys like Nene and Gadz can have their end to end speed and not be able to easily keep up with guards in one on one situation.
The depth of ratings is very impressive though. That's going to be a WHOLE lot of edit work for me.
There's no reason to complain about overall ratings when we can see so many of the individual ratings that are wrong and need to be changed, s'all good.
Athleticism:
Nash - 95
Diaw - 94
Marion - 81
Bell - 85
Amare - 84
Barbosa - 94
Banks - 78
Mmmm what determines athleticism? Marion is by far the most athletic guy on that team, even more so than Amare as an overall athlete, and he's one of the most athletic guys in the league. He has speed, quickness, jumping ability etc etc, that's confusing.
Defense:
Raja - 75
Marion - 89
Diaw - 80
Amare - 89??
KT - 76
Raja is a better defender than Diaw, he should be 80 something. Until we're proven wrong, Amare is not a good defender and far from 89, KT is a better post defender than him.
Athleticism:
James Singleton - 63, this guy is a Marion clone with his athletic ability, they must've never seen him play.
Defense:
Q-Ross - 73 (mmm why else do we play him but for his defense?)
Mobley - 66
Livingston - 65
Ewing - 45
The Clippers were not one of the best defensive teams in the league last season because of a terrible defensive backcourt. We all know Cassell can't defend, but Q-Ross is an 85, Mobley is a 78-80, Livingston is like a 77, and Ewing is like a 75-77. At least EA gave Desmond Mason his deserved respect.
He was 67 and the worst on the entire Hornets roster in 2k7, but he is 77 in NBA Live. That's a little more like it.
And honestly, who cares if Kobe is 96 and Lebron is 97? It's one damn point. They are the two best in the NBA, at least they got that right.
Some of the ratings are off, and some are right on the money. That's the way it always is and the way it always will be.Comment

How does the teamwork rating work?
Duncan - 91
Lebron - 99
Manu - 99
Parker - 99
Udrih - 99
Kobe - 99
Iverson - 99
Vince - 99
Mike James - 99
Is there a reason all those guys are 99 and Duncan is not? Why are Kobe and Iverson 99 in teamwork? Kobe's defense definately got beat up, he's not consistent with it, but if Lebron is 93, he's 99, but Lebron shouldn't be 93, he should be like 78, and Kobe 88 (consistencu hurts him).

but what the hell do they all mean. what the hell is sink or swim offence and defence whatever.
we better get explanations on what exactly they do.
and with all these attributes my concern is that ea have taken the ability to edit them!!
man if thats the case.
there is no way i am buying this game.
i NEED the ability to edit. its what i have done for years now.
then the teamwork attribute seems like the opposite of what it means as all the ball hogs have a 99 rating.
we need an explanation on what exactly these attributes affect.
because kobe and iverson having a higher teamwork ranking than the kidds and duncans is just WRONG. so what does it really mean. the ball hogs are all 99 for teamwork. WTF.Comment

i think the first half a dozen odd attributes are the averages of sub segments.
ie: outside: i am assuming that would mean the collective ability of all outside shooting/scoring attributes
thats why all star shooter/scorers are 99. etc.
same with inside and teamwork and athleticsm. i believe all these are the main ratings and all the other attributes are subsegments.
i think teamwork may be the collective rating for all "playmaking stats" ie, passing, court vision, go to guy etc....
also what the hell does mental toughness indicate.
arenas, one of the most mentally tough players in the league has a 72rating and jamison whose mental toughness has been questioned his entire career is an 85.?? wtf.Comment
