Sadly, that makes sense as most of the changes from 2k3 to 2k4, seemed to be as a direct result of IGN's whining from the year before. So of course they would be happy, screw all the rest of us.

In the same breath, I feel like a fool for paying $60 every year for what pretty much amounts to a roster update. I guess that's why I have flipped back and forth between titles year after year. Almost like a change of pace.

Whatever. I'll enjoy myself with one of them this year.

To live's defense, it looks really good this year. Although the animations seem a little choppy. They don't do to well at transitioning from like one movement to another. I'm obviously a 2k guy, but the Live demo has peaked my interest. I'll rent it to see how it goes.

i feel the same way about the animations. they are a little smoother when you drop game speed down to about 10 -15. probably could go even lower. and the quickness of players isn't sacrificed either. i don't know which game i'll buy this year yet. isomotion has me stumped, (but love the gameplay) and live's quickstrike system is easy to master but its a bit arcadey along with the simplistic gameplay and atmosphere. i'll rent both next friday and play thru them and make my decision. btw, does anyone know if player lock from 06 is back in 08?

You don't want to do that. I played 2k4 last year and I sold it, it was one of the worst games I have ever played and it's the only nba2k game that I sold.

pete, u know player lock is in the live demo and i think its a huge step forward from the previous years.

That was the first thing I did was crank the speed down to 10 or so. Plays nice like that.
