Ive always purchased NBA 2k games and avoided NBA live in the past. NBA live games have not played well and the frame rates always seem to be choppy. However after playing the demo of Live 08..I may just switch! The demo was awesome. Everything from the graphics to the gameplay. Presentation also appears to be tight. But theres one huge factor that might keep me playing NBA 2k. MARCH MADNESS. How is March Madness shaping up this year? Ive always played NBA 2K and college hoops together using the draft import feature. Any one know if March Madness will have this feature?

yes, i will definitely give it a try...i'm just really liking the next gen feel of live...the way its presented etc etc....just looks really cool....finally the gameplay is catching up to the look of the game...not perfect but what game is.Comment

wait to try toe 2K demo first. this game is good because its new. I think i can already see a problem with to many turnovers. You only play 4 minutes and ive already had many games with more than 6 T.O. That's more than 1 per minute.( thats the CPU turning it over to me., So its not because i suck at the game.)

Honestly I think NBA Live will get alot of folks simply cause its does so some polish things well and people get tired of a engine no matter how much you tweek it. I am not sure why anyone would want to talk you out of buying live but I would be interested in how you feel about it after you play the demo for a while or play the full version after a while.
Cause last year I kinda had the same feeling about March Madness after kinda getting bored with CH 2k7 but quickly tired of March Madness's engine so I would as a consumer to be weary of change of pace game cuase it can get old on you.Comment

I think people get drawn into videos looking for something... If you looking for polish then you will be happy to see little things that you wanted from a year ago. If you were already on the other side of the spectrum then you are looking for the wow factor. But many times videos will fool you... you might look at it and see the difference when there really isnt or you could see an almost identical game but the game may actually feel different when you are actually playing, videos may not due a game justice. If your are looking for a drastically different game then a whole new game is what you want, and playing NBA Live will give people that new game.Comment

I'll be getting Live first for the simple reason that it comes out three full weeks before 2K8 in Australia.
That said i don't plan on getting 2K8 till December anyway (because Pro Evo comes out in November and i'll be way more into that) but i'll eventually have both at the same time to give myself a better comparison.
The last NBA Live game i played was 2005 on XBOX which i thought was great with the right settings, and the Live 08 demo reminded me alot of that style.Comment

I'd say NBA Live is the game that made console owners invent the mod chip. Why on earth would u spend dozens of dollars every year for a game that never really improves except for new gimmicks?My Specs:

I noticed that a bit too where the computer took questionable shots with the clock running down. I guess the end of the quarter A.I. isn't the same as the end of the game A.I. which is kind of weird. I think the A.I. should take the same type of mindset for the end of each quarter if the game is close. Just a thought. This game demo definitely took me by surprise but I'm not picking this game up over 2k8 by any stretch of the imagination.Comment

Why is it every year, someone comes out with a I'm leaving 2k and going to EA, and I'm transporting over...blah, blah,blah....
Both games look good this year, why not have both, for the differences in gameplay and graphics and presentation.
No sense in choosing just 1, when both are good.
If live was trash like 07, then yes 2k would be the smart choice...
But this season we have 2 good basketball games. Why not just have both and enjoy the sport.Comment
