The presentation team didn't have time to put this in, as they were focusing their efforts elsewhere. They spent time doing a lot of other cool things that you guys will enjoy though.

Finally, and answer. Thanks! It really is amazing that we are going into the year 210, and you guys still cannot get this. this has been in the 2K series since 2003 for PS2! I would really be embarrassed to have my product not include this, due to the claim of "extreme authenticity". What a pip!

Good grief man. I never even noticed something so irrelevant, and most people probably haven't either....OMG I'M NOT GOING TO BUY THIS GAME BECAUSE THE PLAYERS DON'T WALK TO THE SCORERS TABLE WHAT A JOKE THIS HAS BEEN IN OTHER GAMES!!!!!! That is just silly to me. Sure it would be a nice touch, but don't act like it's critical to the game's success. Presentation has been spruced up a lot in '10 so far, but the gameplay has been the major focus like it should have.

There seems to be some confusion about what Lockdown Defense was. The actual feature was that as an onball defender, you could walk up to the ballhandler and engage in a postup-like animation. From there, the ball handler could retreat or attempt to drive around you. That feature was removed because it broke game flow and wasn't any fun.

Defensive Assist is the feature where you hold down a button and let the AI control your player for you. That feature still exists, but as I mentioned before, has been scaled back in its effectiveness. In short, if you don't manually D up your guy this year, you'll be at a disadvantage. So in essence, it's most useful when you're just trying to get your bearings and find your check (especially useful in online team play) or you need to cruise control for a bit to reach over and eat some chips.

You know what, I actually loved the lockdown defense in 09. It gave the game a more "physical" feel - no longer was a defender just standing in front of the man he's guarding with an invisible force field, but they can actually engage just like in real life. I like that when playing against the cpu, some defenders will use lockdown defense on you while others will be more relaxed, gives the cpu defensive game some variety. Shading left, shading right..sometimes even when a defender is locked down on you (or vice versa) and the offensive player tries to drive they get into this "bumping/shoving" animation and either a blocking or an offensive foul is called - I loved these things in Live.

And honestly it was one of the major "features" that made me play Live over 2k this year.

It had a lot of drawbacks, yes (like long, drawn out animations, too much suction), and could have used more fine tuning, which I thought would be the case heading into Live 10. I didn't think it would be completely taken out.

I just hope that in Live 10 that feeling of physicality isn't lost with whatever new defensive mechanic they introduce. Especially in the perimeter - I actually thought that Live 09 did a great job of replicating the physical battle in the perimeter moreso than any other bball game that I've played.

Wow thats a little harsh man dont ya think? Super B gave you a honest answer and the reason behind it,and youre still not satisfied? Oh BTW, the "other" game satrted the players walking to the bench in NBA 2k7. Im not trying to get on your case so please dont think that, im just saying, we have to be realistic about the amount of improvements that can be made in a 1 year development cycle. if all else fails, dont buy the game! Its your money, your choice.

I with you on this too....although its not a total bummer, it would be nice to see your coach tell his player to go into the game and sit by the scorers table. Or at least put a small cut scene in showing it. The fact that its never been in Live and it suppose to be "in the game" surprises me. But there is always next year and with the new team on deck Im sure we will see this next year. I cant wait for this demo to come out so I can make my decision on what game Im getting this year. But on another note, is someone gonna answer my question if the old PA announers is still in this game, lol

I have another question regarding the gameplay aspect. Will Live 10 have Off the Ball contol??? ex.(2k) I love controling someone other than the ball handler and making cuts to the hoop myself. Reason being my friends try to time my passes and play off ball D, if I can contol someone else it adds another element to playing offense that I can get a wide open shot or fight for postion in the post.

You don't know what you're talking about it was introduced to 2k in 2k7.

Second, I appreciate the support from Melman. You guys have to understand, this isn't just this year, it has been an ongoing thing. I stand corrected about that presentation being in 2k since 03', but it did start in 07', that is three years! Your telling me that with the dough that we are shelving out to the wealthiest video game production company in the world, we can't get a simple presentation like this? The slogan is "If its in the game, it's in the game". Clearly, it isn't in the game. I love to see authentic, little touches to games, and this really is a breaker for me. It is your own opinion to care about gameplay more, but I for one care more about authenticity. I was told in a PM by SephensonMC last year or so, that he felt like they could meet most of my "presentation" requests and make things "more dynamic" for Live 10. I also asked for players hair to be separate from their bodies, so that if they changed hairstyle, it would be reflected. They finally added warmups to players on the bench, which is a nice touch that I asked for as well. I do have hopes for Live this year but let's see what else they will have to put off until next year, and the year after that etc.

the game doesnt release until oct. 6 so no one knows if they walk up 2 the table or not so we'll have 2 wait and c.....lmao and ur not the only person the devs take feedback from....jus sayin lol

I think it's more fun to do a 7 game finals series with a friend than a whole franchise with CPU

A minor thing we added is a playoffs mode, so you can set up the playoffs with friends and each have a team.

It's an iterative process man. Sometimes there are just more important things to worry about, things that can make or break a game. Things like that eventually make it to the game, but you're acting like it's some huge thing when in reality it's not. Most people skip the little cut scenes anyway. They beefed up the presentation a lot, from what I'm seeing. Just because one little thing didn't make it in, no need to come off so harshly.
