Hopefully I dont turn this into too much of a wishlist post.

What decides which features get the axe?

For instance little things in the past dramatically improve the experience of the game like the dynasty cutscenes and ESPN-esk dynasty ticker during dynasty games showing scores and injuries around your dynasty league while in game from 2004. Of course the Create a Team, Legend players, Retros, and other usual wishlist items show up on those wishlists because we used to get them in Live.

So yea, just curious what the thought process of sacrificing features is like.

Could one of you fine folks take a look at the 365 download issue? You have to download the update EVERY TIME you start a on line game. The sam thing happened awhile back and you guys were able to fix it.

              thanks

I think a lot of that was figuring out what could make the transition from Current gen to next gen, as opposed to simply what should be cut.

Right now I'm playing play now games with DNA 365 and the halfcourt sets the CPU team's run are VERY repetitive and redundant at times.

It would be nice if the 'type' of playsets/formations change along with DNA updates also in the future.

I'm growing a little concerned about how scripted the team's halfcourt formations and playcalling are in 09.

Something like a limited amount of offensive formations and lack of variety in the CPU's playcalling, could potentially ruin season mode in Live 10.

Hopefully, you guys already have this on your radar.
Yeah, it's on our radar, edubbs. But I can't promise that we'll be able to get it working for Live '10. Our play system's architecture just isn't setup well for this functionality so it's actually a pretty large undertaking for us.

                    Hey, thanks Mike.

That's all I can ask for is a straight response.

I know it's almost impossible to get everything in, with system architecture issues like you mentioned to work around.

I'm still hopeful that you guys can sprinkle in a little more variety, in the offensive playsets and playcalls though.

In any case, my anticipation for Live 10 is still very high. I know you guys are going to try and deliver a authenic NBA experience regardless.

First off, I'd really like to thanks the devs for making a solid effort at improving the game and giving us the best Basketball game on the market. I truly appreciate it.

Anyhow, I'd like to know if player models being redone, or just improved upon?

Also, will a lot of retros(Jordans) and nike shoes in general be making it into the game?

The authenic arena music is sweet in Live09!

I played the Jazz at Utah, and the sounds in the arena gave me the impression of watching/listening to an actual game.

Are you guys planning on expanding/updating the arena music for all the arenas?

I love that too but the wachovia center and msg get no love. Also I was the sixers playing the lakers the other day in dynasty and they have some of the famous staples center organ in the game but it wasn't playing the staples center organ throughout the whole game. Next year I hope they can keep the stadiums organ music in the arenas they should be in. Don't get me wrong I do love listening to the organ at each arena. I also would love to see you expand on player or team rituals like Lebrons powder before each game. One last thing I would love for you to have specific sounds at each arena like 2k does. I am enjoying the game though and can't wait until live 10.

Also, do you guys plan on reducing the suction/bodying animation that happens waaaaaay too much in Live09?

It's the one that causes the offensive player to start pivoting back and forth, with the defender leaning against him.

I'm watching the Heat vs. Pistons right now on ABC, and it reminded me how in todays NBA you can not use your hands and forearms on the perimeter.

I understand that you guys added bodying animations on the perimeter for lockdown D and to make it more difficult to get in the lane at will.

However, perimeter D IRL is not played like this. This animation would be a foul 90% of the time in the NBA. The bodying animation plays waaay too much on the perimeter in Live09 IMO.

The game would flow much better if this animation was reduced some out of the box.

Too many times in Live09 a player could be squared up for a 3 or dribbling in space outside, and all of a sudden a cpu defender closes out on the offensive player and sucks him into this animation.

yeah i actually played the live 08 demo game still hot trash but the body contact was way better it was more natural, 09 force you into players way to much which causes some weird animations.

One thing about community involvement is that the developers have every motive to talk a big game in order to hype you up. Like that guy who moved from 2K to Ea and started talking about all the problems with 2K. Do you really think he would come out and be honest and say,

"NBA2K9 is a much better game than Live graphically and gameplay wise. The only thing we got going for us is DNA and 365. I really hope we can catch up to them next year, but if they keep improving on what they have we will definitely be hard pressed to equal their game much less than beat it. I really only came here for the (extra money, more stable company, bigger market-any of these reasons can be filled ion) because I know what that 2K company has is a masterpiece waiting to be improved."

Of course he wouldnt so take all this talk with a grain of salt. If you guys can match 2K graphics combined with your already present DNA and 365 you will EASILY take home the trophy.

My question is do you have large scale graphic improvements in the works?
