Re: Season play is basically useless...
Most people online are just bandwagon Lakers, Cavs, and Rockets fans anyway. I'll go all out to say Im about 95% positive that theres some Bucks, Pacers, Thunder, and Timberwolve fans out there but you'll NEVER see them online. I'm a Piston fan with or without Billups, winning or loosing, injuries or no injuries.
Hopefully these next gen systems can game developers can actually take it to another level where these sports titles are actually about SKILL as oppose to just wiggling the stick around and just hitting the dunk button. This will distinguish the strong from the weak. And the strong will be the ones that have the skill to take a Bucks or Pacers team and out skill and strategize a bandwagon Laker or Cavs opponent.
Playing games online is defintly an exercise in button mashing, and skill of the game of NBA live... and not overall knowledge / skill of the game of basketball.
But the bucks couldnt be the Lakers in real life, without some incredible out strategizing/coaching/ defensive effort.
and even then theyd have to be lights out from the field because the lakers play some of the best D in the league.#SimnationComment

I agree with you.

I was playing this guy online the other day that picked the Lakers. I mean LITERALLY, I had double team on Kobe so when he got the ball they came, and I came over with a third guy and triple team him, this guy STILL tried to keep running around with kobe forcing shots up with 3....I repeat [b]3[/] guys on him. Now mind you he had a pretty tough time, but was still able to manage to get some layups off due to the morphing thru players in the game and some acrobatic contested shots still going in (Guess it's because it's Kobe). This guy was still able to manage to stay close within the game due to that and of course of couple of other broken areas in the game like the full court pass fastbreaks.
But what I'm tryna say is, even if I was the Bucks and he played this particular style (which most people online play) it should have been an easy win for me. But as it stands it's not because it's still more arcade and to simple to just go in the lane and press the dunk/layup button.Comment

Re: Season play is basically useless...
True, but that's the whole point. But the difference is, in reality, Kobe/Derek/Lamar/Pau/Andrew all control themselves but in the videogame world you control them. If I'm playing against somebody that's just tryna cheese with Kobe all the time instead of playing team ball....well thats simple to stop, simply just send a double and force him to make someone else beat me. Now on the other hand, if I'm playing against someone that has good knowledge of the basketball game, plays team ball, finds the open man and uses strategies then of course I'll have a hard time.

thats just not really a team vs team thing.
thats a game play thing...
There was nothing preventing that guy to play the game like that, so why woudlnt he do it?
If it was based on real life, he surely would have gotten fatigued, and threfore his dribbling, movement and shooting ratings should/would have all taken a dramatic hit.
instead he gets to hit that square button as soon as hes in range and perform miraculous works as if he is jesus christ.
Funny part is "they" think thats how casuals want to play.
when in reality casuals only play like that because its being allowed.
It's almost like companies are scared to make a realistic basketball game.#SimnationComment

Like, I dont really get the point of having all of these realistic elements in the game like "foot planting" and "Realistic A.I".. and "physics".. and all the other stuff if you're just allowing people to do things that arent possible, things that the real life athletes don't do.
I guarantee you if you show kobe some of the madness that goes on in this game hed be like:

Re: Season play is basically useless...
You guys should have done this long time ago, i already spent hours and hours updating the original roster file you guys gave when we bought the game JUST TO HAVE THE INJUIRED PLAYERS IN DYNASTY, now you guys just remove that little lock and I have to start editing the 365 file you guys updated, but thanks anyways, at least I can use some new players like willie solomon
but i do have a question, what are those arrows under the player, is it about whether the player is hot or cold lately in nba reality? but if do they have an effect on how they play? and would this affect their ability in dynaasty, or is it just a sign that has no effect at all, THANKS!Comment

I play with the bulls, sixers, bobcats, and bucks amongst other teams. I can beat anyone that doesn't use the lakers. The problem is that everyone uses the lakers and my record is 5 and 30. If anyone wants to play a sim style game with other teams I am down. chero21 is my gamertag. If you can play sim two players this is the best game on earth.Comment

Re: Season play is basically useless...
I restarted my season since the knicks roster has changed so dramatically. What I did was just put all of the injured players back into the rotation before restarting, and when I started the dynasty, I turned "simulation injuries" off since the CPU doesnt manage its IR when players are healed from their injuries.
Did it work? I tried it and all the teams except my one had all their injured guys on IR?Comment

Re: Season play is basically useless...
The CPU guys coming on after they've been injured is a bug and isn't fixed with this "fix"
As for McGrady, if he's on IR now, you have to go into Team Management and put him in the starting lineup. All we did was take the IR LOCK off.
so now, if you're playing as the Rockets, you can put McGrady in the starting lineup and he'll play.
Mintsa, for online players won't be able to play with McGrady because he's on the bottom three spots that aren't accessible in online play. Those three spots are reserved for IR.
so let me make sure I have this right. The ir lock is off so we can move players around, butless we turn injuries off cpu players in dynasty will stay on ir for good and never play for rest of season. Want to get this straight before I start dynasty. ThanksComment

Re: Season play is basically useless...
Awesome news. Thanks Steph
It was crazy otherwise...Boozer and AK47 are out for a few games. But in LIVE, they were out forever.
Kind of makes playing the Jazz pointless if two key players are out forever in your season.
Good to see you guys have fixed it.Comment

Seems good for online and offline players.Comment
