All-Star isn't too difficult. It's just right imo. You just have to concentrate on D. Many time new Live users will play this game like they played 2K, and that just doesn't work. Takes some time to get used to it.

Which PS3 do you have? I have an 80 gig, and I haven't really experienced this.

Rookie and Pro are supposed to be Arcadey dunkfests.

All Star is the difficulty the developers designed to be "sim".

So give All Star a go, see if it makes a difference to you.

If you have already tried it, that's cool. Enjoy your bball this year.

        Peace.
I've seen more dunks in traffic on all star then I have playing on Pro difficulty. *shrugs* It's definitely not a dunkfest.

Yeah, I have 40gb (upg to 250gb)..i haven't seen any slowdown. I'm very impressed w/ the game graphically. Loads better and more stable than the demo. Different lighting in arenas looks awesome too.

Re: Official NBA Live 10 Impressions Thread

I've been playing a bunch online so I decided to run a game against the computer. 12 minute quarters, superstar difficulty.

                76ers (CPU) 108
                Knicks (Pappy) 94

                Al Harrington - 10 pts, 9 reb, 3 ast, (5-13 FG)
                David Lee - 30 pts, 21 reb, (14-28 FG)
                Wilson Chandler - 32 pts, 5 reb, 5 ast (13-28 FG)
                Chris Duhon - 16 pts, 10 ast, 8 turnovers (7-18 FG)

This game was just flat out fun. The 76ers nursed an 8 to 14 point lead for the majority of the game that we just couldn't seem to crack. Anytime we'd go on a run it seemed like one of their players would step up. First it was Jason Kapono who lead all scores on the Sixers with 25. He didn't miss a shot until the 4th quarter and was looking like Larry Bird. I couldn't believe it. Then Iggy and Jrue Holiday took turns making us look like fools. Despite the beastdom of David Lee and Wilson Chandler, it just wasn't meant to be for my lowly Knicks.

One thing I appreciate about NBA Live is that it makes you value every possession. I've had a lot of online games where I shoot like pure garbage but because my opponent keeps giving me the ball I'm able to pull out wins. In this game against the Sixers we finished with 12 turnovers, 10 of them coming in the first half. Once we settled down in the second we played a lot better, but by then they had built up a nice little lead to work with.

This is the first NBA game where I've actually wanted to play 12 minute quarters against the CPU. In every other one it seemed like more of a chore than fun. I can understand people having their preferences in bball titles, but for someone to not like this game is hard for me to wrap my head around.

Noticing in 2nd half when you try to change your lineup back to starting 5, it puts the 5 players that were in to end the 1st half, not the original starting 5

Finally got to play the game and I am very surprised, in a good way. I started a FIBA tourney and had a blast runnin with the USA team.

Only issue I'm having is with the crossovers and spins and such. I cant figure out how to put them all together and go by the defender. Too much 2K in my blood, I guess. Maybe someone can help me out on this.

Re: Official NBA Live 10 Impressions Thread

Hey Guys finally got Live 10 today... I went right into the roster section as I always do and here are a coupe of things that I found interesting...

                        1. Although these mistakes may be fixed easily via the DNA updates, I still find it troubling that certain bench warmers are rated higher than quality role players.. an example off the top of my head are Etan thomas rated higher than Nenad Krstic. Now I know we can each edit our own rosters but this problem absolutely kills dynasty mode as the CPU always plays the better rated player no matter who the clear cut starter is. (no reason Stromile Swift should ever kick Thad Young out of the starting 5) Also if a similar position player is rated higher than the starter you want in the lineup, he also will be replaced because of a higher overall rating.. Example: Travis Outlaw Pf/Sf starting over Nic Batum... So it looks like it will take me a few days to go through and lower each bench player after an official update comes out with all the missing players.

                        2. Speaking of missing players, I am eagerly waiting for a roster update that replaces the fake players models for some of the players in the game... example: Darren Collinson on the Hornets. I understand why they are there as a replacement for when the DNA kicks in a replaces them with the real thing, but my question is why ruin the dynasty mode with these players being rated so high and all SF's? but like I said with a little patience you can easily change the ratings and fix the rosters yourself like I did to tide you over until an update.

                        3. Free Agents are rated extremely high in the game as players like chucky Atkins should not be close to some of the top backups in the league, I also noticed that a few retired players along with some players who signed key deals overseas (Von Wafer, Linas Kleiza)are still available and should be removed once the DNA updates kick in..

                        4. Trade logic is still entirely a mess in dynasty mode as teams stock up on same position players and continuously trade like it
s going out of style. those problems along with the before mentioned CPU position changes based on overall ratings make this mode frustrating at times as Deron Williams and Raymond Felton are on the same team along with stephon marbury with only kyle korver at SG, tell me whats wrong there??? this will easily be fixed with lowering the ratings off all free agents who have retired or play overseas in order to keep them from getting signed.

                        5. FIBA is much improved as you are now allowed to edit the international roster player positions and hopefully with a future DNA update we will see updated rosters but I'm not counting on it as it is not EA Sports Fault, it's FIBA who sends the rights to the specific rosters and so hopefully they will send a updated list in the near future.

Just wanted to share a few of these things with you guys and hope you enjoy the game as much as I do... Look forward to the Updated DNA with everyone in it so I can get to work on a roster file... Any questions or comments are welcome.....

Re: Official NBA Live 10 Impressions Thread

Ive got a ton of bad habits that I have to break.

Turbo in the half court, without a opening is the root of all evil, and dunks and traffic will get you in trouble. I had one vicious one with Mamba, but I only had maybe 3 dunks forthe game as team..good sign.

Here are some stats on default all star, The Lake(me) vs The MAgic..12 minute quarters

                          Magic: 86
                          Lakers(me): 79

                          Magic

                          'Shard: 43 min, 22 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 2-4 3pt

                          Pietrus: 41 Min, 15 points, 2 steals, 1-2 3pts

                          Vince:39 min, 12 pts, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals

                          Dwight: 38 minutes, 8 points, 20 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals
--I did a excellent job on Dwight. I double teamed him on the catch in the paint, every posession, and I sagged off of him when he caught the ball in the paint...he ended up going 3-13.

Jameer Nelson: 38 minutes, 21 points, 9 assists

Marcin Gortat: 26 minutes, 4 points, 7 rebounds

The rest of the bench didnt do a whole heck of alot, Barnes and AJ with a couple of buckets each. Bass had some boards, and AJ had 4 assists

                          Lakers

                          Ron-Ron: 43 minutes, 17 pts, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
                          Pau: 40 minutes, 9 points, 9 assists, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks
                          Kobe: 48 Minutes, 26 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 7 turnovers
                          Bynum:36 Minutes: 8 points, 7 rebounds
                          Fisher:34 Minutes: 11 points
                          Lamar Kardashian: 28 min 6 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
Jordan Farmar: 20 minutes, 2 points, 3 rebounds, assist

On default, blocks are a smidge high, and fouls are low.

Fatigue effect needs to jacked up, the starters are playing a bit too many minutes.

Anyone find that sometimes replay stop working?

                          Other then that..Im pleased.

I'm going to run one back before calling it a night

                          well, done EA, well done.

I bought the game lastnight. Great game imo.

So I go to start a franchise. Hmm let's scout some rookies for the upcoming draft. Can't find it!

Wtf. How u going to miss that? Only time to scout players is during off season by running through scouting camps. Do I really have to individual run each player through a camp to get any info on him?

This just killed franchise mode for me. Why can't ea get it right? Madden rookie scouting was a big hit, taking it over from HC. Why in the world would they mess up franchise like that when its something that was already in the game previous years?

Am I the only one having an issue with this?
