Yes, the dunkfest statement was a bit over the top. Was just trying to make the point that All Star is where "sim" style play is supposed to be.

oh also you need to replace Marcus Williams that is on the Spurs and put him on the Grizzlies and delete the generic Marcus Williams on the Grizzlies as he is already listed on the spurs by mistake as it was supposed to be the other SF Marcus Williams on the Spurs instead of the PG...

I'm in love with this game. It's everything I was hoping Live 09 would be, but even better... Even the auto post-up I'm learning to deal with (though a manual option would still be preferable). It's so smooth. And at the risk of sounding redundant, the game plays amazingly right out of the box. Shooting percentages are extremely realistic.

Great job EA. Honestly. It's safe to say you've put a big scare into 2K this year. Next year it's gonna be a total take-over. Mark my words!

I think 12 minute quarters may be a tad too long.

Just finished up a Bulls (me) @ Sixers game. Sam Dalembert had 24 rebounds, Jason Kapono had 11 (que?), Noah had 17, Brad Miller had 15 and Tyrus Thomas had 12.

I also think the offensive rebounding slider needs to be maxed out while the defensive rebounding slider needs to be at zero, it doesn't look like they changed this at all from Live/NCAA 09 - offensive rebounding on default is virtually non-existent.

I lost the game 114-102 which is all good though, but the rebounding seemed off. Perhaps it's a fatigue issue and those bigs shouldn't be playing as many minutes as they did.

Is there practice mode in this game? I'd like to run through the playbook with a few teams. Right now I call plays but really don't know how they are all supposed to work.

                Game is a blast.

T-Wolves stink, aside from Jefferson. Flynn has nice wheels and should develop into a good all-around player quick. I got trounced by the Knicks

Had a good Celtics-76ers game going but had to cut it off early. The pick-and-pop with 'Sheed and KG is deadly. Allen is a mad man working to get the ball and Pierce gets his when he wants. 76ers have a nice squad, too.

Played an epic online game with Pappy. He used the Blazers and I took the Nuggets. Game came down to the wire and B-Roy hit a jumper at the buzzer to win. Very sim game and no lag whatsoever.

I'm going to try out the different camera angles; broadcast is nice but I seem to turn the ball over too many times trying to force passes that look open, but in actuality, aren't.

The big negative compared to 2K is the lack of feeling in control on defense + rebounds. I think that's why some fellas don't like it when they play it after 2K.

D could definitely be better...the offensive game is great.

                    OMG THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLE

Just got this and 2k and decided to devote tonight to Live first. Was in the mood to try the fresh new engine.

All I have to say is I am blown away. I completely echo everyone else who says this is the most realistic FEELING bball game ever. This is exactly what I have been waiting for in a bball game. EA nailed it.

For those saying the D needs a revamp, I disagree it feels just right to me. I do agree some tweaks here and there but the overall balance of the game is superb. It simulates the subtleties of basketball so well.

The quick strike definitely feels smoother than the demo version, it flows incredibly well.

There is a little bit of a learning curve to pickup the general gameplay mechanics. You have to get to this moment where you realize that playing NBA Live the same way you would play real basketball is the way to go, and once you get on that level the fun factor increases tenfold.

Then it's all about feeling out how each team needs to play to be successful. I first played with the Thunder and was out running and gunning with their athletes. It was a ton of fun.

Switched over to my C's and couldn't play at all the first half. Was trying to play the same style I did with OKC and it wasn't working out. Finally started running some sets, moving the ball and getting it to my guys where they like it (Ray curling around, Pierce on the wing, KG 15 feet, Rondo pick and roll, etc) and I was rolling.

This game is just awesome, at least my initial impressions.

Mike you did a fantastic job man.

                    The dynasty will return

I don't know if anyone has said this or not. Increasing the 'In-air Collision Foul Frequency" to the max has greatly improved the foul calling in the games I play.

I have to say that I have played three games now (all random) and just won my first (all-star, 12 minute) and what a treat. This game plays like a real game of hoops.
I won with the Thunder hosting the Heat and Wade had 21 in the first half and they were up 12. I doubled Wade the entire 2nd half and he ended up with 28 and I pulled away to win by 10, 101-91. Durant just flat went off for 44 and was 21 for 28 from the field.

Thanks so much, I can't wait to get more into it, but for the next few weeks I will continue to play some random games until the DNA stuff gets updated and the season starts.

Just had an absolute barn burner against the C's, in Boston against my Cavs. Final score, Cavaliers (109)-(107) Celtics.
                          Cavs Celtics
                          Points: 109 107
                          FG % 44.6 39.2
                          3PT 6/14 7/21
                          FT 13/13 6/7
                          REB 56 47
                          Assists 18 32
                          Blocks 14 8
                          Steals 1 12
                          Turnovers 24 13
                          Fouls 9 8

Player of the Game: LeBron James 50 Pts, 8 Reb, 10 Ast, 3 Blk, 21/44 FG, 4/5 3PT FG, 4/4 FT's, 38 Mins. He was an absolute beast. Hit the first basket of the game, a 3Pt shot from the corner only 5 seconds into the ball game, and he hit his last 3 PT shot of the game, to win the game. 8 seconds remaining, Celtics are up 107-106, Wine & Gold ball. LBJ brings the ball up, calls for the Iso on Pierce. Uses a few size up moves, checks the clock, it's at 6 seconds remaining. Decides to make his move, crosses to his left, gets Pierce to bite. Uses the quick step back behind the 3PT line.... Elevates and snaps the wrist.... 3....... 2........ 1...... swish as time runs out on the clock.

Crowd was COMPLETELY silenced. It was an absolutely electric atmosphere throughout the game. It was ugly often, as you can tell by the stat line. My Turnovers were terrible. The blocked shots and steals were a result of a lot of forced BAD shots. Shaq had 13 Pts and 14 Rebounds, but the rest of the team put up a pathetic showing.

Eddie House was the man in the second half, bringing the Celtics out with some fire power. Ended up 4-6 on 3PT FG's, to end with 12 quick points. Sheed had a double double, with 10 Pts, 11 Rebs, and Garnett had a VERY solid game with 24 pts and 17 rebounds. Pierce had an off night shooting with 16 Pts, on 5/19 FGs. Allen led the charge with 26 Pts, but had a terrible shooting night as well going 12-27 from the floor.

It was one of the ugliest games that I have EVER played, but also the most gratifying. I started off the game on a 12-1 run, and led by 9 after the first Q, but that quickly changed as I let my guard down.

Have to say, I'm loving this game.

I'm on a 2 game winning steak now. 1st against the Nuggets, second against the C's.

You can't continue dribbling in the NBA after you go up for a shot. So what you're asking goes against the rules of basketball unless you meant something else.

just finished blowing out the heat in miami in my dynasty. I held D Wade to 29 points on 10-36 shooting. I was very proud of myself. The best part of this game...Most of my points are jump shots and mid range/3 point bombs. I very rarely get into the paint and when I do, it makes me smile when I throw down with STAT. I started a quick one with the Suns to see the commentary and overlays about previous games like 2k has. Very thrilled to see some awesome stat overlays regarding the previous game played. Game is just F'n awesome. I am literally in love with this game!!!

4 games into my dynasty I see lebron as the leading scorer with 32 ppg.

WOW, just played 3 games 12min allstar and they were amazing!!!
Just wanna chime in with some of the things i didn't like, to see if maybe we could get it fixed.

-CPU RARELY calls timeouts, out of the 3 games i played only 1 timeout was called.

-CPU never once held off for the last shot of the quarter and the shot clock was turned off.

                                -CPU lack of fast breaks.

                                - And i cant be sure about this one as it only happend to me once, but, when i had some subs pending one the guys i was subbing was on the foul line and NONE of the other 3 subs i wanted occured. Weird

Other than that i am LOVIN' this game.

                                Great job EA!
