It isn't the case. Guys like LeBron and Kobe, even in replay games when they put up big numbers like 50+ points, don't play aggressively. In 10 replays of a LeBron game where he scored 41, he took an average of 18 shots and scored 20 against me only once. He didn't get the ball a lot, he didn't take over in the 4th quarter of a close game.

Maybe it's because a team element for DNA is missing. I'm very disappointed.
What bugs me even more are scrubs I've never heard of making circus shots on a regular basis. Guys who would never take these shots otherwise.

Just makes me worry about DNA.

If the first update comes out and this stuff is non existent, then im a happy guy...ill shut up..but for my personal gaming experience...its frustrating.

I have this same problem guys and its not a DNA issue its a ratings issue. Playmakers has been talking about this all the time. A lot of the things the AI does is due to the ratings just being off in certain areas.

I'm sure once he and the guys he's working w/ release that roster these issues should be addressed.

Yeah, last night I had Shaq do a triple crossover, euro-step reverse.

            Not kidding.

I agree, that IS crazy annoying.

seems like a big gripe for such a small thing. now if Z wouldve done say a double clutch reverse 360, that would've been a problem, but the video is a simple back down w/ a spin then a layup, so what??

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment

                  Nah, I don't think it's a DNA thing.

Here's my take: The DNA just tells the game "If Shaq gets the ball within 8 ft, he'll shoot". So when Shaq get it's it, the DNA tells him to shoot and he shoots. The game assigns a random shooting animation that kicks in and it goes.

BUT that's where the problem is. The game just throws in a random animation (in my case last night it was the triple crossover euro-step reverse) instead of somehow having certain animations limited to certain players.

Shaq (and most other bigs) should have very basic moves around the hoop (in my humble opinion): Turning hooks, one handed high set shots, basic layups, simple dunks, that sort of thing.

But it looks like the whole "Go to the rim and put the ball in" animation menu has been opened to them, so you got guys like Bonner and Brad Miller putting the ball on the floor and getting two-handed, pull-up dunks, dipsy-doodle layup, reverses, and stuff.

If Brad Miller gets it close, just jump up and stuff it down through with one hand. But no, instead he's doing a Dwight Howard, leap 14 ft up, rip throughs with his knees up around his ears. That just aint right.

When it comes to things like fadeaways in the post from big men like Shaq I could somewhat agree...b/c the DNA is simply telling the player to "score in the post" So I could see a hiccup there being the animations are limited. Isnt there an actual percentage for driving to the basket though? Just not sure how its slipping through..

If big men ie...Shaq had their own sig packages, or at least limited to only certain moves, this would alleviate alot of the problems.

I think it also accounts for what the defensive player positioning allows for. It still shouldn't allow for the dipsy-do but I think that's what's happening. I find double teaming the post, manually or "B" button is very effective in stopping some of this stuff and even forces kickouts on occasion.

Exactly, and in my opinion (remember, I'm no programmer, I'm just some dude so take this with a grain of salt), it shouldn't be THAT hard to even manually go in and remove certain animations for certain players.

Heck, there's only 30 teams in the league, right?

I can only assume there's some wonky reason they can't do that, that would mess up their coding or something. Again, I have NO idea how all this is implemented, but if it WERE easy I have to assume they would have done it. (shrug) I don't know.
