Most players don't go back up when they have two defenders blocking their path...no one goes back up when they get a rebound out near the free throw line. I've seen the CPU grab a loose rebound that almost rolled out of bounds on the sidleine and try and go back up!

Someone posted when I raised the lack of fastbreaks that the real NBA doesn't have any fastbreaks either....this stuff is crazy. Let's not just pretend these things don't exist.

Guys like Vajero and Oden and Ben Wallace kick it out most of the time in the NBA....and every player in the NBA kicks it out when their team is down by 3 with 2 seconds left and they need a three pointer to tie the game.

Let's not sugarcoat this...sugarcoating just results in the same BS appearing in LIVE 11.

I guess I am mistaking what you are saying. I assumed you meant when a guy rebounds the ball right under the basket. Thats what I'm talking about. And of course I know if you are down by 3 with 2 seconds you would kick it out. I'm saying 9 out of 10 times, if a guy gets an offensive rebound under the basket he's going back up.

Not at all. Whomever made that post about guys like Varejao getting boards to bring the ball back out was absolutely correct.

CV, I hear you. I could not stomach '09 after finding out that what I played early was basically the same game when it shipped but I'm enjoying '10 much more.

Its sometimes impossible to "kick it out" online because players get ripped so quickly before a pas can be thrown or the player has zero time to gather and protect

Of course a guy like Varejo, Ben Wallace and in his day, Dennis Rodman would kick it out. What I'm talking about is percentages and more times than not, if a guy gets a board, in real life, he's going back up to score or draw a foul.

I'm not disagreeing at all if Varejo and Wallace arent kicking it out.....what I'm saying is they probably got it correct for 95% of the rest of the big men in the league. They like to go up and dunk on someone, not pass it out for a guard to shoot a 3(unless it is a special situation with time running out, down by 3).

It's more than just one or two or 5% of the league. I can name a ton of guys that do it a good amount. It's just not portrayed accurately here. Same goes for guards - they can get some rebounds, and pull the ball back for a reset or a short jumper.

I believe the problem is everyone goes right back up, no matter their ratings, DNA, whatever.

You've got to remember that, unlike a lot of fellas here, I played a lot of LIVE 09...

I enjoy the half court aspects of LIVE...but I am really dissapointed that there are still so many aspects missing. I could ignore them for LIVE 09 and was genuinely excited for this season's LIVE.

But two straight years of screwed up rebounding, no game pace, CPU ignoring the open court, guys walking out of bounds, cpu players shotting through the backboards...I am dissapointed those aspects have all been ignored.

Start with the basics...get the rules right...get the fundamentals right and build.

It's a fun game and I am glad guys are getting 'fun' out of it...but that's where I was with LIVE 09. Those guys are already dropping away pretty quickly and I hope EA really work on the basics for LIVE 11.

Hopefully the PS3 patch is something very good.

I feel the same way man. I have the 360 version but I'm undecided whether I should get rid of it or just hang on to it. I haven't played Live since '06 and this game had me hyped. I might be crazy but I felt the demo played better than the retail version especially after this patch. To me the patch has made this game unplayable.

I see what you guys are saying and I think you are right Pared about it being just an automatic putback. Just after playing ball for a long time and now watching it all the time, it just seem like bigs, once they get the ball dont like to kick it out(most of them). You know how a lot of big guys are, they feel like they arent getting enough touches.

Some do, but some don't (IRL). Some pull it back out and reset. Others fake the pass out, go back up. Others like to get the ball and set up for an isolation down low.

There's more to it than what we see. That's my concern, anyway.

When I watch one of the games on the NBA package tonight I will be checking this out. You guys got me interested in paying close attention to it IRL.

I used to get a earful about this when I played center for my HS team... Brings back memories...lol. Even the best finishers around the basket kick the ball out to reset the offense alot of the time...

I think this might be because the ratings are jacked...

Its funny though that nogster is in the 2k forums complaining that they dont take it back up. Pretty funny

Anyhow looking in the DNA attributes a guy like Fisher has a 75 putback rating

Anyone mind checking some of these guys who dont kick out?

Seems like Live might need some serious editing the ratings

now i understand we want sim but where do we draw the line. lets say they gets 5 rebs they must kick it out 5 times, what about the moments where a guy tries 5 times to go up only to get blockes 3 times miss the fourth and get the 5th try where are those moments when we get the kick out logic.

now i will admit the auto facial dunking should be toned down if its in traffic. Any AI upgrade will be great for the game and bringing attention to this is GREAT, but this is not a killer issue because the line between the kick out and go up back % is so damn close its either way....

final 10 seconds AI is flawed in live ALTOGHTHER we get that, to pile this issue in with late game AI is a cheap shot.....

kick out logic is necessary but like everything else it will become fuel for more nitpicking ex. shaq resets the ball now he is not aggressive enough to finish blah blah blah....

currently it works because they go up either get fouled or make it or miss it we play on, they start kicking it out we play the pass lanes its easy steals especially how poorly the bigs are rated in passing, games become easy blowouts happen we start another complaining about how easy the game is......

lets talk about fixing issues, if kickouts are going to be implemented the bigs will have to be re rated across the board, everything from their aggressiveness to their passing, their court vision, composure in a croud of defenders, to hands in the post, where are the ideas we have enough complaints .....

sliders cant fix EVERY ISSUE thats why i EDIT.....

That's just what someone suggested though, player edits.

But there just needs to be a variety in what the CPU does with the ball after a board on O.
