You've outdone even yourself with those lines Shadows.

They didn't "kill" off the NFL games...they lost the right to make them.

APF didn't sell, neither did College Hoops. EA just ended your beloved NCAA game...so it's pretty clear college basketball simply doesn't sell.

Honestly, taking a shot at them for "killing off" games that they had no control over is taking even your 'dislike' for them a bit too far.

Re: Mike Wang Has Left EA Canada and the NBA Live Development Team

Bottom Line...NBA Live 10 was very good compared to the last three years of Live games.

Did Wang have THAT much influence over it? Not really because ultimately it STILL played and felt like 07 08 and 09.

I'm just more curious about where exactly this games going as far as direction? If by sim do they mean by the game just having a online following of realistic nba stats like the symmetry thing? meaning that if they strengthen THAt that's what will make a difference? if they trigger animations properly if they add realism to the speed of the game then maybe yes but stats and game engines rarely mix and we see that. gameplay has been wonky until a editor comes along...and it's been like that for two years which Wang was around for...So...that means the influence hasn't been THAT major.

Honestly I do not think anyone influence could have been that major as been stated because it's a team of people deciding.

i know this isn't a improve Live thread but there needs to be one or just maybe good ol' tomba goes and consults them huh?

No effort or name recognition as even being with the company. And they wonder why their sales numbers slip in certain parts of their sports sections.

Thanks to Take 2 for killing a great series of games.

Also this thread has turned into a 2k fest and a easy ticket for the fanboys to gloat and boast on EA's situation.

I think Live 11 will still deliver, rather we like it or not, each game since 06 has been better than the other. So I don't see the series declining, just improving. If they want to try new things each year until they find a solution, let them.

But I do agree with one thing. The big wigs pulling the strings are the ones ruining efforts by the developers. They need to go have board meetings and write on chalk boards. And let these developers do their jobs and save this series. Without all the number throwing! When in reality they are the problem, not the developers.

          Chalkboards? lol What Up BS!

NBA Live 11 will deliver just the same way madden 11 will and NCAA football will. it's NHL 11 Fifa 11 and tiger that will not. those series are at their peaks. even with how ancient and archaic Tiger is...

I'm looking forward to MLB 2k10 and NBA 2k11(not because of Wang , evidence of the past two years being even better 2k games)...2k and EA need to loosen their expectations of their sports game sales. Selling 1 million basketball games is like selling 20 million Call of duties...

Can we change the title to "Wang Pulls Out of EA Canada."

Sorry, the immature person in me had to say something.

His post is what happens when you talk before you think about what your actually putting out there. Everyone has done it. Its like, you dont think 2K wants to make a NFL game? Come on, imagine how good the game would have been after 5 years of improving?

College hoops does NOT have a big enough market to make a game that is profitable when the NCAA is asking for to much.

I'm with you on this one Tomba especially with that point there, what direction is the team going in. The way Mike talked about that direction scared me because it he's a hardcore bball guy.

Hopefully there main goal is to remain sim if that's the case then I'm back to my optimistic mindset I had before. But until then I'm going to approach Live 11 with caution.

ughh, that was not my intent, if i wanted to bash Ea, i would flat out do it. I dont think i have ever said EA sucks. The only EA game i have ever bashed here was Madden. I dont even look in that section anymore. Do i have some Bias? Sure i do, but I wont come in here saying EA sucks or anything, but if by me stating what is the truth is wrong, then i wont post in here anymore.

If i truley despised them, i wouldnt buy anything EA. i have a few EA games. Just click on my xbox thing. I even bough Fifa 10 with my "hatred" grrr or whatever

                        This.

Althought I will say this: If they go all "free style superstar" on us, and return to the atrocities of NBA Live 06, I will be absolutely livid.

personally i thought nba live 10 was better looking than 2k10. did Wang or Beluba have anything to do with that? The loss of those guys will not put the franchise on a downward slide.......no way!!!!!!!....That gameplay only needs some fine-tuning as well as atmosphere. Other than that, nba 11 already has a great foundation to start with
for now, i won't bash Wang or Beluba.....because two wangs dont make a wight

Having heard from Wang that ea has a new direction on their game pisses me off really, i just wanna believe that he is doing some kind counter-psychology thing for his new company.

I don't wanna ****ing give up on live 11 that easily after what i've seen from live 10, please EA don't be that stupid!

BiggD...after copping a massive dump on their game like that from Beluba (and, let's be realistic, that was a massive dump from a respected producer)...EA should be coming out and saying "hey, new direction isn't true".

The fact they are so quiet about it / no response + the fact he's not the only one who left the game.....the vibe is definitely that Mike is speaking the truth.

Since when do we get info about the next bball game in February? Beluba was only there at EA for only 18 month how much pull do you think he had...
