May I please get an answer? Did you guys finally re-acquire the Madison Square Garden license? MSG was in Live's 03'-07', but became the 'New York City Arena' in 08', and has not come back. What happened?

Re: Ask the devs : Controls (Offense and Defense)
How do the ratings/dna effect what type of moves/shots a player will be able to take, and pull off?
IS a guy like Kobe Bryant going to be able to chain together cross overs, and dribble drives, step backs etc..more fluidly then a guy like say.....Jason Richardson, who doesnt have good ball handling skills?
How will the ratings also effect defensive controls: steals, blocks, closing out, being able to stay in front of a defender, or recover when you get beat.
A concern I would have is the game being too reliant on stick skill, as oppose to using a player realistically.Comment

Re: Ask the devs : Controls (Offense and Defense)
A couple questions:
1) How do you choose to do a reverse layup, and can you choose which hand or is it dependent on where you are? Is a reverse dunk a random animation or something you can choose to do?
2) I know LT is to gather, but how do you choose which gather? EDIT: Ok, I watched the Gamespot E3 video and got a glimpse of how the gathers work. Tap LT for hopstep and do that in any direction, such as away from the basket for a stepback. Hold LT to do one step gather shot, Hold LT and direction to steer a eurostep.Last edited by Tha_Kid; 09-07-2010, 04:49 AM.Comment

Re: Ask the devs : Controls (Offense and Defense)
I heard somewhere that turbo/sprint has been removed. On one hand, I like that idea because it will stop people from just constantly sprinting up and down the floor. On the other hand, however, it seems like it would limit control a little bit.

At 1:10 in this video, Felton uses the screen to get by his defender. He has an open lane to the basket at this point, that in real life I would have to think that he would attack, but here his speed doesn't increase at all. Is there any way to fix this to give the user control? Maybe instead of having a full-blown sprint button, just have a quick burst. The player sprints for a second or 2 just to blow by that defender or attack the basket, then it becomes unusable for a few seconds. At least then there would be balance and a little more control. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.Comment

Another example is, one of the devs talked about getting rid of the gather and bending knees so the defense wouldn't be at a disadvantage. This makes the game look and play unrealistic IMO from looking at the videos.
I don't know about the vision and direction of this series man. For real.Comment

sorry if already asked, but do we have the option to make control relative or absolute to camera? thanks.Comment

Re: Ask the devs : Controls (Offense and Defense)
So from watching some older footage of Elite, I gathered that while there is still aim for dunks & layups, there is no timing/power. Was that something that was considered and left out? For dunks it's understandable, but for layups IRL there is definitely the factor of putting too much or not enough power on the release. This also goes for floaters and post moves like up and under layup or jump hook.Comment

Re: Ask the devs : Controls (Offense and Defense)
I think Dwight staying with LeBron on the fastbreak was a big warning sign about the lack of Turbo. There is a gear(s, actually) that Bron can go to and Dwight cannot. This should be tied to player acceleration and speed, and if it is like that already then the range needs to be wider.Comment
