Yes, you can adjust to the right or left, regardless of what hand you began the dunk with.

We're not done with the transition game, so I'll hold off answering the fast break question until we finish off a few tasks.

But the goal is to make them feel like real fast breaks. But of course that's our goal, so that doesn't help you much

Re: Ask the devs : Controls (Offense and Defense)

There's no 'ask the dev's section for Graphics and Presentation (probably to come), so will post this one here:

In Live 10, Players with Hair on the PS3 looked very 'offensive' (somewhat on topic , lol). Has the hair system changed now so we don't have distracting 'see through' Hair mesh's on the PS3?

      Back to gameplay.

Tip dunks are back this year (from what I've read) and so I presume tip in's as well. How will this be handled? Separate control, or the same control but a context based result?

Also, are Tip Dunks animations in their own right, or are they simply re appropriated animations from the 'alley oops'?

Lastly, I know hustle plays haven't been finalized yet, but just a suggestion. Last year if you ran or were pushed along the sideline or basline, you would sometimes play out that 'tippy toe' trying to stay in bounds animation. Nice touch, but the end result was pre-determined with the ball handler always losing the ball. It would be good if a) there were multiple outcomes for this, and b) by attempting to move your player away from the sideline, you could regain your regular dribble.

In general, for hustle plays, multiple outcomes are a must, otherwise you quickly recognize the scenario playing out and can guess the end result.

      thanks.

The controls for alley oops and put backs are in flux so I don't want to reveal anything quite yet.

I can tell you that the animations are a mixture of unique anims and re-purposed alley oops.

And finally, I can promise you that there are no more "scenario" based animations in the game.

Everything that happens this year is dynamic and there are no predetermined outcomes.

We would never add a tip toe animation if you couldn't use it to stay in bounds, buy some time for the pass, or go out of bounds with it.

As of now, we haven't put it in though

I can tell you that the animations are a mixture of unique anims and re-purposed alley oops. As I thought, should hold up though. Glad to have put backs back in the game. (should never have left)

By the way, I realized you conveniently skipped over this one:

In Live 10, Players with Hair on the PS3 looked very 'offensive' (somewhat on topic , lol). Has the hair system changed now so we don't have distracting 'see through' Hair mesh's on the PS3?

I'm aware it's a little off topic, but last year when I was harping on it to the producers, it seemed like a bit of a taboo topic?

Sorry, I should have worded that "we will never". I didn't work on NBA last year so for me this is a first effort and sometimes I may word things as such by accident.

But you're correct, they were like that last year, and that feeling of getting stuck in a scenario is probably the number one thing we wanted to eliminate from the game this year.

It happened all over the place in last years game, and it will never happen in this years game.

Re: Ask the devs : Controls (Offense and Defense)

it is my understanding that the left trigger is used for controlling euros and such. so how will we handle freestyle passing.

also how will we call for picks this year. due the change in control live 10 left the player with the task of holding the b button to handle the duration of the screen. this made it so we could not crossover toward the screen.

in addition the new shooting mechanic calls for the right stick. therefore the pick and role control has to be changed.

                suggestion only.

I have a couple more questions and thanks by the way for answering my other questions...you guys are definitely on the right track I believe, but I was curious since we are talking about controls in this thread.....

1 Will we be able to dive for a loose balls in the stands? - if the ball goes out of bounds into the stands/players bench will we have the invisible force field stopping us?

2 when we attemp layups from behind the basket will the animations be improved and not look like a robot stuck in one direction? will the moves under the basket look more realistic, to the point the computer makes the appropriate adjustment?

3 Will there be handchekcing in this years version?

4 When we foul this year is there going to be regular and hard fouls at our disposal?

Re: Ask the devs : Controls (Offense and Defense)

Basic question. With the alternate button scheme. Will shoot be (on the 360) X like in 2k/Live 10, or B like every other EA BBall game in existence.

That is seemingly minor but I actually couldnt play Live 10 at all because of the button switch. Can we get an option to customize our control layouts like the PS2 games?

Can the pick and roll control be mappeed to a shoulder boutton because the B button makes it hard for me to set the pick and use crossover moves

Any improvements to 2 vs... whether online or off gameplay?

-Is there still a way to manually set picks?

                          -Player lock function?

-Individual gamer stats? Could only use guest account when going online with more than one person.

Question - In NBA Live 10, when shooting you could hold the button down for the entire duration and have the player do a hesitation/double clutch like shot.

Is this still in Elite 11? How does the sweet spot dynamic change based on release point? Does the meter restart once it reaches a certain point during the shot command?

Obviously it would be harder to make the shot, but in Live 10 it was nearly impossible and with no feedback on what works or not we didnt know what we were doing wrong.

Question - Offball player control and picks. When we tried to set offball picks, we could only choose the closest player. Will we be able to select any of our teammates to select the pick minus the ball handler? Sometimes I'd like to run a double pick baseline cut with Ray Allen but it never worked.

Signature moves - will we have them in the game? i.e. Rondo fake shot.

You could do that in Live 10? I never knew. Does anyone have a video?

Sorry to derail the topic, I was just curious. I'd love for this feature to be in Elite 11.

Will players be able to get hot and cold based on momentom of how the game is going or based on circumstances? Cause I hate the hot and cold streaks from the DNA thing because there is no way people stay hot or cold all game... I think players should be able to change from hot or cold after each quarter depending on how they played making their sweet spot wider.

Will clutch players be clutch? Cause the clutch rating has absolutley no use in Live 10...How is it I make a 99 rating clutch player yet when i'm down by 5 with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter I can't make a shot. Same with people like Kobe, Derek Fisher, and others. They were far from clutch in clutch moments.
