Not too say anything about 2k, or any other game to be honest...but I don't think I've ever seen a sports game where players run different, or jump different, or anything in the regards to moving like said earlier. 2k could be one of the worst games I've played in regards to players running styles, when the player looks like he's ******** running with his head 2 feet in front of his lower body...I just don't think you can say anything about a games realism before you actually play it. If you look at Madden, NCAA, MLB 2k, MLB the Show, NFL 2k, NCAA Basketball 2k and March Madness, NHL 2k and EA's, NBA 2k, NBA Live series, do any of the players run differently or act differently.....absolutely not....

Re: In fair Comparison - Videos inside.
When i said run, jump and dribble i was talking about animations, every player in Live/Elite is animated the same way. C and PF are have the same animations as the PG and SG, the only different is the speed. You must not have played 2K10 much becasue Lebron doesn't animate like D-Wade or Kobe.Last edited by Forever_Young83; 09-04-2010, 05:23 PM.Comment

Although it looks a bit different when you compare those two videos. It seems that Elite 11 has zero specularity which makes the players look dull. I remember when Live 10 first dropped it was too shiny, and they improved it with a patch by toning it down. Looks like it has been toned down too much in Elite 11.Comment

Re: In fair Comparison - Videos inside.
I thought Live 10 animated well, I just thought it need more in some areas. Mainly on contact animations, jumpshots, etc.
Controls were great on Live 10, they were not broken! I just feel like you guys could have focused on the graphics aspects and correcting animations in areas. And kept the same controls, Elite 11 would be the greatest things.
But it just seems like primary focus was on changing the way it controls / feels.
And the graphics alone on Elite 11, looks like everything we hated about Sony's NBA The Inside series, they look almost identical.
You can't honestly tell me by looking at Live 10, that removing animations was the key, instead of adding more and just improving the ones that were already there.
But yes we are two voices of opinion, I respect yours and I'm just voicing mine.
The individual player vs player animations in a one on one situation are much better than they were in 10. Unfortunately, it seems like everything else is worse!
The dribbling is really great, and I can see how I'll be able to own people by playing defense and keep them from doing anything. The passing is too fast, in my opinion, and too on point as it always is. The shooting is pretty much weird, too because the shot animations are funky and the ball doesn't seem to have the right amount of arc or physics with the rim.
I am not sure how I feel about the dunking, either. In 10 it was good that they toned down a lot of the dunking, but it also gave an unfair advantage to the defense in the paint if you knew how to play you could just stand there and nobody would be able to score on you. They went the opposite way in this, it looks like, where people just take off.
I would prefer them adding animations for that. Not suction ones like 10... but ones that take into account positioning, at least. So maybe players won't try a dunk if there is someone under the rim or it will lead to a foul animation.
Something...
10 was destroyed by its flaws, even though there were not many. I hope Elite is better, but you're right the videos look trashy.

Re: In fair Comparison - Videos inside.
Elite looks atrocious. From what I've seen, it's going to be one year and then done. NBA Live 10 felt like a very good game that needed some polish and work and it would have been great. I just don't understand why they changed directions. This new game look horrible in every single respect, especially graphics and animations. I can't wait until the reviews come out and it gets 5's and 6's and next year they're changing direction again.
Maybe not, I don't know. The videos really bring to life how much of step backward this game is visually. But............ it's not the final, and we haven't played it, so maybe it'll be great. I guess I'll hold judgement but I'm skeptical. I thought Live 10 was a year away. And not a year away from death."Well the NBA is in great hands but if I had to pick the single greatest player on the planet, I take Kobe Bryant without hesitation." - Michael Jordan, 2006Comment
