It is in fact the same technology.

We appear to have the support of the company to execute on the three year plan Litty described in his interview.

There will obviously have to some signs of progress for that support to continue, but I really don't see any change of direction happening any time soon.

I'm genuinely curious, why do you think Elite doesn't have a full set of features?

From my count it has many more features than Live 10.

I also feel the basketball basics are much better represented in Elite, although that is certainly a subjective thing that people may disagree with me on.

Why would you have a problem paying full price for a game that has a plan for the future?

That seems like a positive to me.

If we had no plan for the future wouldn't that be concerning? Wouldn't you be less likely to invest your time into something that didn't have a clear direction set?

Seriously, nothing could be further from the truth.

Ask the guys who came out to community day.

Take a look at the features we've put in this year's game as a direct result of communication on the OS forums.

It has "features", but it's missing key fundamental parts of basketball. Read through any of my replies on the Elite forum from the past 2 days. Don't have time to post them out right now.

@tybud - as I said earlier in this thread, its not the control scheme that keeps you copming back for more, it's the level of control that makes it good. When you lose, it's on you.

If you will, a non-sports analogy: when playing through God of War, you fight your way to a boss, using combos and various tactics. When you get to the boss, you press a button and perform an action. If you were to play that game 5 times, I think the bosses lose their visual appeal after the first couple times through, but the journey to get to them changes every time you play it.
ok so thats what you mean when you say you gotta feel it. my thinking on feeling was the control scheme, but your saying it also has to be felt in the way you have to play the game when it comes to actually navigating through the game itself. waiting on the demo, not worried about the look to much because i have eatin a whole lot of messy looking bugers that taste great.

As someone who played Live 10 extensively, the first time I don't get sucked into a driving ballhandler to commit a foul I had no part of will be the time a huge smile goes across my face.

                          TWO HUGE missing features:
                          (1) The inability to play less than an 82 game schedule in dynasty mode. We want to be able to play a smaller schedule - 2K has had this feature for years. This way you can play multiple seasons without HAVING to sim - messing up our stats.
                          (2) No injury to players in gaming mode - only when you sim. I want to be able to see my guy get injured and think "oh crap, who do I go to now" that's what makes playing these types of games fun.

Re: sales driven direction, live 10 was the culmination of building on the engine since 07, the result of which if we're going off sales driven design, was not driving sales in the Live series' direction. 07 was built to utilise next gen hardware, but lacked the next gen experience & perspective that EA now has (not to mention a massive undertaking in one year, larger than 10 -> Elite). Elite definitely has the gamer in mind (control etc etc), but is definitely not attempting to alienate its fan base in the process.

I've been part of the series since 06, and trust me, none of you have put in as much time in Live as I have, but I plugged live 10 on thursday, and I couldn't get through a half. I enjoyed Live 10 quite a bit and played online for quite a while after it was released, but the 'visual' quality does not come close to the satisfaction of the gameplay in Elite. That being said, visuals WILL become a focus as this game progresses.

I'm not in marketing by any means, and I'm as tired of saying it as you are of hearing it, but if you give the demo enough time to unlearn previous control schemes, personally I think you can see past some of the things you guys are accustomed to in a bball series.
Okay, I think we both know A.I. running the Oklahoma offense, show little to nothing. And I'm saying the AI is broken, i'm just saying that in reality Oklahoma offense is pretty vanilla, almost like give the ball to Durant and stand back, with the occasional pick and roll with Westbrook. I think what most us want to see is the AI running a team who switches up their tempo. That's why i believe PHX will be a perfect choice.

I have full faith in Elite, because i've witnessed what fifa 08 accomplished that year and how they built on it throughout the years. And what i feel with how Elite will be is looking more like to that fifa 08 getting glory days back with the ''same approach''.

That's why i'm pretty confident about the game.

I understand and agree that those features would add value to Elite.

But neither of those features were in Live 10 either, and people are saying Elite has fewer features that Live 10.

We may not have every feature everyone wants, but this is far from an unfinished product.

Elite has some awesome new game modes, completely revamped gameplay and an AI that has been built on and improved from last year.

Feel free to disagree with our priorities or decisions, but implying that it is incomplete or not worth the price of admission is not a fair statement.
