NBA Elite will never be able to make a comeback. 2K should do what Madden did with the NFL license and attain all rights.

This is exactly one of the main gripes I have with 2K11. With SST, someone can make an average player or even a scrub unstoppable.

God no. I would lose all respect for them as a company/developer if they stooped to EA's level. I'm an avid supporter of choices. Take the choice away to pick another game of a similiar nature...and you have Madden. No thank you. I enjoy the option (If never acted upon) to at least decide to get a different game if I wish too.

Depends on which sliders you've adusted (or not adjusted) and shot selection. You can beast with JR Smith...but he does not have as many scoring options as ,say, Kobe and so it's easy to stop him since he's pretty much one dimensional (Shoot 3's and Dunk. Can barely dribble, plays no defense, and can't pass, which makes double teams effective).

On the other hand, using Real FG percentage feels as if the game cheats you out of making shots. So I can see why both options would make you feel uncomfortable.

Competition drives to make you stronger though.. To me,Madden has been pretty stale ever since it got exclusive rights.

.. Thats not how it works, unless the Nba only wants one company to make their game, its not just 2k buying all the rights..

As much as I love 2K, expect some seriousness from EA. EA aren't just a company with bunch of cocky, lazy people. Look how Battle Field has developed it's crazy. Look what happened to Winning Eleven(the king of the soccer game few yrs ago). Fifa took over instantly with only few years of development time. 2K better wake up, throw that cockiness off, stop ignoring and listen to the dedicated fans' advice and upgrade the damn game/put more details into it such as online server, trading legends, adjusting ages, croud motions/sounds(same looking crowds everywhere etc), crew mode, CPU plays(CPU players hold the ball too long and never pass until the shot clock runs out and when they run a play, they use the same damn play over and over), details of the shoes(my god, Air Jordan's looked aweful in 2K11 and they still does in 2k12. I mean, isn't MJ the face of 2K since last year? How can 2K make such a fake-ish looking Jordan's .), each players' unique style/addition of more signature dunks( bunch of players had the same in-game dunks and I still see this in 2K12. MJ and Pippen's in-game dunks overlap like crazy and Rudy Fernendez's in-game dunk's the same as MJ's lol? Thank god 2K fixed those akward looking Dirk's shot which was the same as the Ewing's . And since when did Clyde and Wilkins had the same shooting form ? I mean how lazy is that?! I don't think every single employer of 2K focuses on the gameplay so I don't buy that "Oh they were working on the gameplay; hence they didn't have time for those details blah blah blah" bs excuse. Hope nobody's shooting form look the same in 2K12:o. Furthermore, Kobe's, Wade's, Lebron's shooting motion looked like garbage in 2K11. It's amazing how they could make them wrong considering of the fact that they are the most recognized players today. It's looking so much better in 2K12(it better be) but Kobe's upper body, Wade's legs still need some adjustment. Also, instead of just focusing on star players, 2K should pay as much attention to the role players as they do to the stars. Oh and why didn't 2K put warmups to the classic teams in 2K12?!). Eventhough 2K is the best basketball game now, there are so much rooms to be improved(so much things to be fixed) that it's scary what EA's gonna bring to the table. For those who say "Who care about all these crappy tiny little things! Gameplay is all that matters!" Listen. Since, 2K's gameplay feels so smooth and amazing, EA are gonna make the same if not better gameplay feeling with much more details(EA was always awesome with the details.) I'm a huge fan of 2K as well but be aware of EA. Just watch how the biggest company like EA do their job and develop.

There's no need, its the ultimate the jokes on you. EA bought out the rights for the NFL so that 2K could no longer compete. 2K didn't need exclusive rights, made an amazing basketball franchise, and now EA can no longer compete.

EA was headed in the right direction when they made Live 10. I think the were a little too ambition with the whole NBA Elite thing. Me, Rockchisler, Pared and the other guys gave them a ton of feedback while we were there but when I saw the game, I didn't see a lot of what we said was there. I was a little disappointed but I guess they have made the best decision for their franchise.

I, like the other guys who went to EA before, would like the opportunity to go see what they are up to and give some external feedback early. 2K does this well and they will want to learn from them if they want to ever compete.
These are my opinions based off of my perspective. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but if you disagree, we can still agree to disagree agreeably and not fight about it.

I also though the Elite project was too much for one year but from what you've seen at the moment, do you think Elite is possible to be done for 2012 (if done properly)?

I would imagine they have started from scratch and completely scrapped the Elite project. But who knows? They have been really tight lipped on everything. Besides, my experience at EA wasn't anything like my last two visits to 2K. The guys there at 2K really listen to feedback and are trying to make the best game possible. That's what I think makes those guys so good at what they do, they are humble. Even if they don't use the feedback, they are willing to listen and process it.

I thought that was what EA was doing when we went up there to Canada. I'm not trying to say that anything we suggested would have saved the series or that we could have made an impact to make a difference. I'm just saying, they were making progress with the community in my opinion by letting respected sim gamers from the community rub shoulders and give input. I hope they will do the same thing but do it early enough to make needed changes before its too late.

Ea still has a lane open for market share in the online category. If they put out the next basketball sim game with decent gameplay and put a lot of resources to online, they could possibly have customers buying their product strickly for online enjoyment.

Ea's rival has offline sowed up but you could have the potential of customers buying both nba titles, one for offline and one for online.

And this I cry "Horse feathers!" on. You only like this when it benefits you. When it goes the other way, then you're blaming the game. You can't have it both ways. Kobe should be Kobe. End of story. He should not, under any circumstances, get schooled by friggin' Keith Bogans. That just does not happen and should not happen. I don't care who's controlling them.

And if the feedback is good, I'd bet they would eventually act on it.

Which begs the question: shouldn't they be getting input from folks NOW instead of at a point where it's too late? The Czar should have been in Florida by now.
