actually, i played on the hardest level today and, while I did make a minor run in the 3rd quarter, they were ahead the whole game and kicked my *** in the 4th quarter. Also, there is a "Computer Assistance" option, when if turned on, the catch-up AI is on and when turned off, there is no catch-up AI.

Re: IGN review, 8.8
This quote says a lot:
"But while the mo-cap adds realism, the player models themselves are anything but realistic looking. The Live team took great strides forward in incorporating the realistic heads for most of the stars in the game, but it's nothing compared to the fact that ESPN NBA Basketball has the realistic head modeling for every player in the NBA, not just the stars. The players themselves also don't have the detail down to every tat like ESPN, and when you look at both games side by side, there really is no comparison."
Maybe next year

i don't get yall in here and in gamefaqs. u guys whined how the game last year was too easy , then u guys wanted the game to be harder and now ur whining because the ai gets hard in the last quarter. what is it that ea needs to do to satisfy all of you. there are sliders you know. oh well it's not like anyone pays attention cause it just comes out the other ear. i'm gonna go play my game and have fun while u guys talk about the negative aspects of the game that don't mean anything since there is sliders. i'm out to play, peace

You generalise FAR too much.
I never once argued that the game was too easy last year. In fact what I did play of it (wasn't that much really), I did find it challenging but it just didn't impress me that much. The videos this year looked like EA took a complete overhaul of the game and I thought it looked amasing.
I'm not some stupid [censored you naughty boy] that loves one particular game or company. Sure I bought 2K3 last year, but I also own NBA Live 96-2001 (2002 never appeared on the PC), as well as a number of other pre-Live EA basketball games. I couldn't care less if I buy from Sega, EA, Sony, or even Disney for that matter, as long as I'm playing the simulation-oriented basketball game I enjoy the most. What I can't and won't stand is the catch-up AI that has plagued EA Sports games of recent years. Don't understand what I'm talking about? Play NHL 2001-2003 (don't know if 2004 still has the problem), or even NCAA Football 2003.
Yes runs happen, but this goes far beyond that and there are obviously ways to make a game at least somewhat challenging without resorting to cheap tactics as other companies have been able to do so. Someone mentioned there is an option to turn it off in the game, which would be very good news if it does in fact control that. Once my mid-terms are over, I'll see if I can find some place that rents it and give it a shot.Comment
