    This game is sweet.

There are so many moves and so much strategy that if you actually can't find the balance in this game, you're not doing it right.

lol @ this waste of a thread...you might as well say the plain ol jumpshot is too effective. Get it through your head man, the pro hop is something used in real basketball to create space and have a better chance at the basket.. wow just like in the game! It works no better in the game than it does in real life...get over it man or trade in your copy.

Totally agree. I've been playing all week and a buddy of mine came over to try it for the first time (he was really good at Live 2003). I showed him the buttons and he immediately latched onto the prohop since it helped him get closer to the basket. He used it basically every single time down the court.

and.....at the end of an 8 minute quarter game (on All-Star) he had scored a whopping 42 points on 18/62 shooting.

      Too effective? Please.

I haven't played the game but I assume that you can change the effectiveness of the pro hop by sliders (?). That's what you do. Just tell your brother or whoever that you're not gonna allow them to use one move all game. Simple as that. If they cry about it, let 'em cry.

Against the CPU the sliders are the obvious answer. The only problem might be how often the CPU uses the pro hop (BTW I'd appreciate an answer to this). If the CPU uses it too much no matter what, then there's a problem in the game and I have to decide not to buy the game.
