Re: Pro Hop IS too effective...my impressions of everything else also

im sorry but yall are just in denial...u know darn well the pro hop is too effective...get this...i played my lil brother yesterday...mavs against the lakers....i mentioned how cheap the pro hop was....he started using it a minute into the game..he scored 56 points with kobe Bryant out of the lakers 60 points... using the pro hop ALONE...i tried for the charge...most of the time it didnt work because the charge button animation forcefield is very small....i put hands in his face..he still hits......i go for the block..he goes to the line and even makes the shot more than half the time.....THIS IS ON ALLSTAR....do NOT tell me pro hop is not cheap when kobe bryant can do the same thing over and over down court..nuttin but pro hop..and score almost all of the lakers points...no way. I played basketball all my life...been playing organized ball EVERY year since i was 10 years old...i KNOW basketball..and i know what the pro hop is and i know how its used and how its effective....in this game...it creates space..sure..but you push your defender backwards NO MATTER THE SITUATION..it always works....i dont care if u get fouls or contact...u score most of the time or you go to the line...especially with players like tracy mcgrady and kobe..there should be SOME type of animation where a stronger defender is able to make the offensive player "bump backwards" when he tries to push in the paint with the prohop...but there isnt...i can pro hop through shaq with steve nash...come on man....yall are seriously in denial....be real with yourselves..every review mentions how powerful it is...yet somehow u guys on the site have a game where its not cheap at all...i amn not a live basher..i wanted this game to be very nice...thats why i spent 50 dollars on it...dont get me wrong..the game is nice in alot of aspects..and alot of the new stuff has major potential..but alot of it creates new bugs and new problems that we have to wait to be fixed next year yet AGAIN...they always sacrifice something when they fix something or add something new...this happens every year in nba live...it never fails...the pro hop RUINS the game im sorry....

Pro hop is not too effective. You just have to know how to defense it. Now that I have played enought games to recognise when its gonna happen I can defense it depending on the situation. If I have a man between the pro hopper and the basket I position my man to take the charge. When I get there on time 90% of the time I draw the charge. If I am behind him I wait for him to take the second hop to shoot and block the ball from behind. The take charge button is your best friend on defense in this game. Its also very effective against guys who post up on you deep in the post and try and dunk immediately after catching the ball. If you are not inside the circle under the basket, you will draw the charge when they try to dunk.

I have bashed EA for the Live series the last few years, but this year gameplay wise they have done an excellent job. Alot of discontent coming from people is from them not practicing the game. They want instant easy success without having to figure anything out or practicing. I am guilty of that on occasion.

this guys credibility is very solid. he and i use to argue all the time about LIVE vs 2k back at NLSC. he couldn't stand LIVE. he is right though. the pro-hop can be defended and if you do it well, the cpu will be reluctant to use it as much. you don't have to take a charge everytime though. if you time it right and just chanllenge shots, you'll change ALOT of shots, but you can't do this by using Bob Sura to block Vince Carters shots. nope, not happening this year. big men that have good shot blocking rating will chanllenge anything that comes ther way.

And to "NKecrible", dude, give the game some time. at first, i absolutely hated LIVE2000(pc) when it first came out. i returned it after a couple of days. but for about two weeks, the game was just calling my name to give it another try. i did, and the rest is history...

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

Perhaps Nkredible's brother is a gamer savant. Or Nkredible cannot play defense. These are valid possibilities, along with "pro-hop" having the potential of being abused.

Perhaps Nkredible's brother is a gamer savant. Or Nkredible cannot play defense. These are valid possibilities, along with "pro-hop" having the potential of being abused.
