Yall might now remember me but I was on this board lasy year.Well anyway....

Some of yall are lying yall azz off/I got Live 2004 on ps2 and there is nothing wrong with this game.Im playing starter mode and the pro-hop isnt that effective.Actually if you do it alot you charge into people and it only works good if you can get an angle to get pass your first defender if not you will always run into a man.The jump shot is great. It depends on your shooting technique. You hgave to release the button when you reach the peak of you jump.I be busting 3's like crazy with good shooters like Pierce. The Alleys are beautiful and so are the dunk animations. The AI is mart as hell now.I was abusing the paint with Amare and then they started doubling me and forcing me to kick it out. When I was crossing themo over with Marbury they started doubling the perimeter. When I gave the ball to Scott Williams they didnt double. And now they scramble for the foul in the fouth quarter to stop the clock.I dont know what some of you guys are talking about.

if yall remeber me I would post in the NBA 2K3 forum.Im copping ESPN 2k4 without hesitation but I be viewing this board on the low and noticed alot of D ryding of ESPn in here and people going to Live forum bashing.I know a [censored you naughty boy] when I see one.

glad to hear it. I'm not sure yet, but i'm thinking I may have to call BS on some of these complaints (over-effective pro-hop, deadly slow down, no midrange game etc...) Live is looking better and better to me.

It's funny because, sooo many people say they want a simulation. They want realism. But like the guy said earlier, they don't even understand the chess game that is basketball. The freestyle control is not about being able to get by the defender every play. the jump stop is not to be used every time...that was the most ridiculous thing I have heard on this board...that a guy uses it every time down the floor, and he's complaining....ha! Basically every basketball fan should try live. I haven't bought and kept live in 2yrs but this one is a keeper. It looks outstanding, especially considering the 2k4 comparison. It definitely looks better than expected. Very good game.

I just got the game last night, and was able to play two games. Per this board, only settings I changed were to change game speed to 45, and moved fatigue up to 75. Played on "Starter" difficulty level. This game is great. I had absolutely NO problems making open shots when they were present. In my first game, I played as the Nets vs. the Raptors. I shot 46% from the floor, and the CPU shot 48%. With 8 minute quarters, the score was 78-72. The game was extremely realistic. The CPU Raptors went to Vince down the stretch, and he kept the game tight all the way. The CPU doubled Jason Kidd midway in the 4th as it saw I was creating shots for him. Mourning was able to post efficiently down low, and when doubled, could kick it out to Kittles in the corner for the open 3 (of which he made a couple). Richard Jefferson was erratic from outside, and Kenyon Martin couldn't hit anything outside 10 feet. I didn't ABUSE the pro-hop...in fact, I often had difficulty finding a clear path to the basket to even implement it. I was able to use a couple of times with Kidd, who would do sweet looking layups, or with Jefferson, who would bring it strong. In the second game I played, I was the Rockets vs. the CPU Sonics. Again, very realistic results. I won 74-70, with Yao (who simply abused Radmanovic) finishing with 16 points and 12 boards. Francis scored 25. I could not stop Rashard Lewis, who had 28 with a number of breakaway dunks. Again, I think you are only going to get out of this game what you put into it. If you are looking for a REALISTIC simulation of NBA basketball, this game will provide it. If you have the desire to use the pro-hop to drive to the hole every single time, even though you will not be successful all of the time (at least not on the difficulty level that I played), you can make this game into a dunk fest. But having not bought a basketball game since NBA 2002 (ouch!), I think this game is awesome.

i swear you guys are on crack, or work for 989 or VC because this game is very good. i can't over abuse the pro-hop, i'm making my j's, i hold my own when crunch time comes, "samj." is right. this game is not that bad. no basketball game is perfect. if you can abuse (yeah, right) the pro-hop, go to superstar. if you can't hit your jumper, learn when, how, and who's shooting the ball. just because Rasheed Wallace hit 3's now and then doesn't mean he's a 3point threat.

one thing i did to make jumpers is change my shot control to user, this way timing is more of a factor. the double team issue, well, is not an issue to me. i've noticed the cpu will d-team when it's necssary. if a post player has poor ball control, or is killing them down low, they'll react.

everyone has they're oppion, but this is ridiculous...

I'm not really a fan of NBA Live, but I must say that this year's version is a lot better than last year's. I still plan on getting ESPN but so far I've really enjoyed playing Live this year. I think one more year and they just might, might take ESPN for best overall game. Live does have it's share of bugs but I'm not one that likes to play with sliders and the such and I always play on all-star. Saying that I think just right out of the box Live is just old fashioned fun. It kind of brings me back to the days of Double Dribble and Tecmo Basketball. I'm glad they toned down all that freestyle stuff. I think nowadays people are more fascinated with dunks and razzle dazzle and not prue ball. Defense and Strategy. Those are things that I like and this years Live finds a good balance of that. I still think the control, graphics and overall presentation go to ESPN from what I've seen. Plus not to mention that 24/7 mode looks very promising. But I give Live a thumbs up and suggest to a lot of 2K fans to atleast try it out.
