Hey apaapa,

Do you notice how there is much less "in-fighting" in the Live forum as opposed to the ESPN forum

Well, we'd like to keep it that way.

I, personally, don't care what a reviewer had to say since I've had this game over a week now...mmmkay? I don't care what magazine or videogame website scored Live 2004 or ESPN or ID.

Live '04 has been released for awhile now and everyone pretty much has come up with their own personal opinions about the game already.

I too have been an Inside Drive junkie for the past two years.

That said, the comments in this thread have made me question my desire to write off EA games all together.

Now there are 4 must have EA titles that will be released over the holiday season that I MUST have.

As long as...
1) NBA Live isn't a run & gun game like it was last year.
2) There are actual team tendancies.
3) The animations are great.
4) Player control is tight.

I'll bite the bullet an pick up LIVE 04' even without online support.

I hope this will be the last version that doesn't support online play with my XBox.

Well, you're fine with 1,2 and 3, they're all there and done well. The 4th one will depend on personal taste. A lot of us playing the game really think they have great control. You might not like the "skating" feeling, although it is not noticeable the more you get into the game!

Can you please clarify what you would like to see? I happen to like the presentation, as it is all about "playing ball". I'm guessing that ESPN has a whole bunch of cut scenes, which certainly will probably enhance the "presentation", but don't most people pass by the cut scenes after one time anyway? Do you simply want a TNT "overlay" for the score, or do you want the camera to cut away from the action on the court to show fans, Marv and Fratello, etc? Thanks

Yeah pretty much what you just said. I'd like to see more cut scenes of the crowd and players.More stat overlays during timeouts it would also be nice during timeouts to hear the announcers mention whats happening around the NBA (example: Mcgrady scored 40 and leads the magic to victory over the Knicks) Player intros, talk about team tendancies or keys to winning tonights game during the pregame show. I would also like to see the crowds get more rowdy in tight games or when we go on long runs, boo like crazy when the home team is getting blown out. Theres a ton of things they could improve on in that area.

Good review.Im getting ESPN in a few mintus also but I had Live since it came out.This game is great.The players do look like the real thing but in a cartoonish way.VC definatley has it beat from that standpoint.The players in Live do play like the ral thing.Webber runs like he does in real life,Shaq stays in the pain,Kidd kids alot of assist with fats breaks to K-Mart,T-Mac does alot of pulling up at the top for a 3.This game is the real thing.The animations are smooth as hell.They dont have that robotic/mechanical feel at all.

Also about that prohop thing...It doesnt work unless you can get by the first defender for an angle to prohop to the hoop.If you prohop with someone in front of you you will get a charge.The block are the best block of any B-Ball game by far.I love swating shots with Garnett and Amare.Also KVH and Mark Jackson do the prohop alot in the NBA.Its basically a form of a drop step and alot of big men use it when taking the jump hook shot.
