Hey, I bought Live and love it. I just can't understand why jumpshots are absent and you can never get around your defender. There are also a few other quirks, but it seems like a good game. I don't see the ESPN boards like the streets of Compton for two reasons. Number one, I have family in Compton and contrary to the media's stereotypical portrayal of the area, it is not nearly as violent as people think. Rap videos and biased news reports do not constitue reality. Perhaps a Colorado suburban school would be a more adequate analogy??? Second, I think that ESPN fans - myself included - are under pressure for the games to do well because the intense competition and the fact that they (or we) are aligned with the underdogs. I just want games that are good, consistent with their feature set, and fun to play. Thus far, NBA Live does that for me.
Also, if you guys could tell me how to get around defenders and take jumpers I would really appreciate that. Right now, I can't get any fast breaks, and one defensive player can stop a 2 on 1 or even 3 on 1 with ease. Last night, I played it all night instead of football and was pissed off because I love the game, but I can't figure out how to make my players perform. Holla if ya hear me.

Hey man, I wouldn't take the analogy to heart. I think he's just running on stereotypes. The stereotype is Live is a straight Arcade-fest and ESPN is for anyone who likes "sim-ball." And actually it seems like Live is the underdog on most Internet Forums, IMO. It's slowly changing as more people actually play and experiment with the game.

If you want some more tips, check out the slider sticky above. I, as well as others have some really great sliders up there. It makes Live feel even MORE like a sim, amazingly.
All in all, EA did a great job this year.
