Damn, count another one who succombed to ESPN and gave Live a try. Its actually growing by the masses. Football Forever, one suggestion I offer you is to never let this board know that you're a self admitted fanboi then switch games. Both parties will use it against you as long as you're around. But, you're kinda lucky. I have'nt really seen an all out flamewar in here in days.

Re: Bold BOLD move from me,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

people who love espn are in denial. the game was so hyped they just don't want to accept that it sucks. I hated live the last 3 years and thought that nba 2k2 and 2k3 were exceptional games. VC really dropped the ball this year. EA made lots of improvements in gameplay. 2k4's gameplay is worse than last year. People in the other forum just wont admit to themselves that this game was all hype. I used to be like that. If I was hyped for a game I would say it was good even if it sucked. The game that changed all that was devil may cry 2. That game was the biggest let down in the history of let downs.

When did I defend the game? I asked bluedevils fan why he wouldn't read the sliders thread or anything that people wrote and he complained about stuff that can be changed or turned off. I haven't played either game yet.

Re: Bold BOLD move from me,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I to have converted, I am 33 (hardcore game since 8) and have been playing sports games since the first basketball games came out, I was a EA fan for a long time, but I gave up on them on NBA Live 2000/and especially last years March Madness (DON'T GET ME STARTED) and I never came back and ever since the Dreamcast I have been a huge SEGA NBA fan, but wow how times have changed. I bought this year's NBA Live 2004 just to bide a weeks time til THE REAL GAME came out and of course to ME that was ESPN Basketball.

Upon first playing Live for the first time I was like same old sh*t, no 720p support, no 16x9 support, players look cartoonish, stadiums blah, etc.... Then after the second day something happeneded I really needed to play this game, I was thinking at work who I could trade for how could I build my dynasty, and I thought if this game is good, MAN, only imagine when 2K4 comes out it will blow this puppy away.

Needless to say, I took off work early to pick up 2K4, I didn't even take my shoes off when I came it, I had to see it NOW, after playing for about three hours it hit me, I'm having no fun with this game, I'm going through the motions but that's about it, I went and tried Live 2004 again and thought maybe this was an anomally, maybe I was expecting to much from 2K4, but this was not the case, man Live is so much more fun to play, it in a lot of ways looks more natural as well.

I have not played 2K4 since and I am going to get rid of my copy, I now wait for March Madness 2004 to come out, and I am set, this game has brought me back to the EA stable for now, I'm dissapointed in the offensive rebounding, and the Free Agency Bug, but overall it's a blast to play, and isn't that what virtual gaming is about, having fun! Hats off to Live 2004, a fine basketball game!
