Re: Time for LIVE to step up the graphics

Great post guys,I don't want to bash a game to hard but in reference to the 2K series, well we all Know from wayyyyyy back in the Sega days their games always looked a little too clean and yes I'd have to say "Stiff" on the animation part.

I haven't purchased their B-ball game yet but from my experience and what I've just read they havn't change much as far as those "Skweeky Clean" graphics go. But I'm not one to pass judgement on a game I havn't put my hands on,and I'm finding my own experience with "NBA LIVE" keeping me busy having fun.

As far as "stepping up the graphics" goes it might be a case of "Beauty being in the eye of the beholder"

In any case I'm just not seeing that much ugly just enjoying the joy of playing the game with what the graphic guys put out.

And for them I don't think they looked at it as work, but instead a "Labor of love" which can only be made better in their pusuit to better graphics.

Every year this topic is going to come around and we'll be here with some more comments on what is and what isn't,the saga will continue.

Re: Time for LIVE to step up the graphics

      I actually like Live's graphics.

Yea some faces are off, like KMart...but others look really good. LeBron James? Come on, he looks just like him. Anthony? Wow, what a job by EA. Mourning looks good. Kidd is fine. I can name so many more that look really good. Only a couple don't look that good (ie: Houston has too big of a head...kinda square.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Just as it is in "life" we're never,never,never...gonna be satisfied...its in our nature. The graphic guys put out a fairly decent product and we bash the hell out of it. I don't have a problem with guys being "Critical" on a games points, thats what you're suppose to do but make your comments stand for something as in "Constructive Critisism" Don't make it sound as if those guys don't do good work, its just that they can do "Better". Thats all I ask, and every year that is just what happens,it gets better

I've seen the growth of "Video games from Atari "Pong" to the current titles availble now and they are getting better year in and year out.

Next thing you know sometime in the future we'll be on the "holo deck" lining up at QuarterBack.

I have to respectfully disagree with this. ESPN's Lebron is dead solid perfect IMHO.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Did you see the post where the guy compared espn to live with pictures of allen iverson and lebron james? Lebron doesn't look a thing like himself in live.
