Re: The \'evolution\' of LIVE 04

damn...Live needs this much help out of the box????? You say rocket passes and rebounding is still bad. How is the spacing?...especially in transition? has it improved at all? IMO the players are too jumbled together and ice skate/glide too much for me to consider the action realistic. Do all these adjustements and edits help these issues as well? Thanks in advance.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

They help the spacing a bit because the sets are run better now...the'bunching' seems to mainly occur when the CPU gets jumbled up after fast breaking / then going to half court.

YES...it's a bit of a pain to make all these changes.

HOWEVER...the simple facts are, after these changes LIVE is playing sweeeeeeet

More importantly, at least I can make the changes. Sadly, there's nothing I can change to make ESPN play real sets...because there are no real sets in the game. It pains me to say that, but it's true. Each team in ESPN plays the same...and that's amazingly dissapointing / a game killer for those of us who like to play a season

Re DOC above...yep, ID04 will probably be the best (again) for AI.

I am going to run with LIVE for a while, simply because I've played ID 02/03 a tonne (seasons in both)...and I'm enjoying the change.

ID04 will have better AI...but LIVE is good also

Yeah...I'm back baby, and loving every minute of it!!!

Seriously, the variety in play sets is such a big thing (as you know) for any game hoping to want to make you play a season.

ID03 was the first game to give you a different challenge / experience each night...and this game does it also

I'm a long time VC man...bought all their basketball games...but man is it time to add real play sets. Every SG getting Iso'd + crossover gets O L D fast.

It's cool when you play Iverson and Philly...but when Jersey is ISOing Kittles with the same plays...

Do you have to make these changes every game, or can you set them for the season/dynasty so you wouldn't have to touch them again?

I want to try those sliders, but am too lazy to read through the huge thread. Any chance you could help out with a link to the exact page?

Or just a general nudge in the right direction, like fist few pages, middle or towards the end? (I am lazy but also have dialup so 30+pages doesn't look exciting to me...hehe!)

                  Thanks

Thats cool if playsets was key for you. They really don't make a difference to me. Live simply has too many areas that are lacking and even after EXTENSIVE slider treament these areas still lack. Basic movement is cheapened by gliding/ice skating. Lack of rebounding, rocket passes, and spacing are poor as well. lol! I wish sliders could help the graphics to.

However, Its good to see dedicated gamers like yourself go to such extremes in order to repair a game. Like you said , at least Live has realistic playsets though. I may give the game another try but its the inherent flaws that always seem to deter me from further...gameplay "treament" or repair via sliders, installing playstets, player edits, etc.
