    Pared, stop please! I have tried every slider combo possible. The cpu does not shoot mod-range jumpers. They shoot 3's and shots inside the paint and every so often you get a shot just inside the arc. But besides that, there are no mid-range j's. I put the human defense assist slider up to 90 and they still wouldn't shoot the mid-range j, they just took more 3's cuz they couldn't get around the defender. Unfortunately, I think ID does this best and warrants a purchase because of it.

    I don't understand why this is such a big deal. I don't know how many times I've watched an NBA game and screamed at the tv: YOU'D MAKE IT IF YOU'D JUST STEP IN A COUPLE OF STEPS!!!

    NBA players do two things: Attack the paint, and camp out behind the three point line. In some cases, they penetrate and pull up in the foul line area. Do you know what a 15 foot jumper is?? A mid-range shot!!! And the CPU takes plenty of these on me...dribble drive, pull up jumper. The game is simply programmed to reflect the NBA. NBA players shoot threes and attack the basket. That's the number one complaint of scouts these days, that the midrange pull-up jumper is a lost art. I just don't see why everyone is complaining about this.

            You know what then, enjoy ID. If you truly feel that the game doesn't take enough midrange J's then do yourself a favor and go get ID and enjoy playing the heck out of it. While they probably shoot more MRJ's in ID, it is nowhere near a "game-killer" by any means. I just feel you really aren't getting the game right in terms of customization. So if that's the case, my words are lost (and wasted) on you.

              You know what then, enjoy ID. If you truly feel that the game doesn't take enough midrange J's then do yourself a favor and go get ID and enjoy playing the heck out of it. While they probably shoot more MRJ's in ID, it is nowhere near a "game-killer" by any means. I just feel you really aren't getting the game right in terms of customization. So if that's the case, my words are lost (and wasted) on you.

                You know what then, enjoy ID. If you truly feel that the game doesn't take enough midrange J's then do yourself a favor and go get ID and enjoy playing the heck out of it. While they probably shoot more MRJ's in ID, it is nowhere near a "game-killer" by any means. I just feel you really aren't getting the game right in terms of customization. So if that's the case, my words are lost (and wasted) on you.

                  Pared, I don't know why your being so harsh on the guy. It's obvious that one of Live's biggest flaws are the lack of mid-range jumpers. To say that the average NBA team strays away from MRJ is a silly excuse. Yes, most flashy players nowadays would rather dunk then shoot a 15 footer, but 20%-40% of NBA games baskets come from MRJs. In Live, I'd say less then less then 5% of the points come off of MRJs.


                  Yes, some of these slider and setting tweaks do improve the amount of MRJs during a game, but they are nowhere near the amount taken in a real NBA game.


                  No matter what you do, the AI controlled player will never pull up for a MRJ if hes left unopen. It only happens if he's posting up, or if he takes an off balance shot from the free throw line, or if the shot clock is running down and thats his only option. Other then that, its all three pointers or back downs in the paint.


                  I think the main problem is that the court is too small in comparison to the players. In Live AI players never hold the ball at the top of the key. Its always beyond the three point line. Or 17ft away on the left or right of the free throw line, which is what the Nets run in the half court. Make the court bigger and two HUGE problems might be adressed.....the lack of MRJs and the court spacing.


                  I guess we just have to hope they fix the problem for next years version.

                              That's right. It seems way too short and crowded. Not to mention guys can run from one side (width) to the other side and double guys without really taking a risk because you can almost follow the ball movement without leaving a guy open.

                                That's right. It seems way too short and crowded. Not to mention guys can run from one side (width) to the other side and double guys without really taking a risk because you can almost follow the ball movement without leaving a guy open.
