Who is to blame for bringing in the Hockey guy? I say its Peter Moore. He's been fired right?

            no he's not fired..he's promoted

On 4 August 2011, Moore was promoted from EA Sports President to the role of Chief Operating Officer in a structure reshuffle

He's not in charge of the creative direction of the games. Why is he being scapegoated for the direction Elite took?

Cause the decisions that are being made about this franchise and that have already been made about it are coming from a higher pay grade than a creative director.

Yeah, that's is true. But there a MANY levels between a creative director and Peter Moore. If you want to criticize an exec in at EA, start with the Elite project manager at EAC (who's likely at least 2 levels removed from Peter Moore).

The failure on EA's part started way before a project manager was even picked.

Elite's creation and Live's destruction must have been cooked up by marketing guys giving a rebranding presentation in an executive boardroom somewhere.

Funny thing is sales of Live would have picked up on their own as Mike Wang made the game better and generated positive hype.

Those marketing guys aren't nearly as smart as they think they are.

I don't think the blame was being specifically laid at Moore's feet in the first place though. The comment came about because of a tidbit on Peter Moore but that doesn't mean he's being scapegoated. Scapegoated implies that nobody is getting blame but one person Peter Moor in this case, playing the part of the goat. I think it's clear that everybody involved in this mess from EA has gotten they're asses ripped to pieces online over everything.

But still, if someone wanted to start the blame laying at his feet or any other exec, they wouldn't be in the wrong to do it or deserving some sort of reprimand considering sales numbers would be available to those guys long before a project manager is even named.
