6 weeks? More like 3-4. They have to have at least 2 weeks for the game to go gold, press the game on disc and send it out.

Just my idea, don't really care if anyone agrees. I just believe they'll put a game out until otherwise is proved, don't really care what happened three years ago. No official cancellation has been stated so I'll continue to believe the game is in development, or something is happening over there.

        Ok, that's fair.

I personally don't believe that's not the case. Most of the dev interviews is done in one or two settings and split up into clips that are sprinkled out through the months prior to release. Its not something that detrimental to the dev cycle. Often, these devs have to work overtime, during crunch time. I think most people would appreciate the break, since they are probably not being compensated for the OT.

I agree with you though, I think they want to undersell, and over deliver.

Time moves too quick for me to keep up! haha 6 weeks, 4 weeks, 3 weeks, its all the same. The game should be in final stages regardless.

At this point they are probably testing for bugs. No way is there any major development going on at this point. What is it with these sports games ? Nobody besides FIFA wants to talk or show anything.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

We arent even at the 30 day mark for most of these games. Madden is releasing videos once a week. Fifa has an international audience so they had to show it. Also Fifa has been confirmed to be just a graphical upgrade with better crowd AI.

NBA 2k still has a current gen version to sell. The CG version hasnt even been out for 2 weeks yet.

Now Live should be taking advantage of that but they havent. They did the same thing last time there was a console release and didnt release any real videos until 2 weeks before release.

Have we even seen a screenshot of 5 on 5 gameplay? I'm at a point where I'd be excited to see a non-Kyrie picture. Always a good sign when it's less than a month before launch.

Difference between now and 06 is live had a current gen game as well

Good point. They have no current gen to overshadow, Madden, FIFA, 2K...i understand the strategy of holding info and releasing at a certain time.

Live.......i don t get it ? Once 2k opens the flood gates of next gen info, the masses are not going to care about Live 14's info.

They're really missing a chance to get a leg up (or even just a chance to be heard because no one is talking right now), that's what leads me to believe as to what they have isn't really that good....it's sad to say but it's the track record that Live has now developed.

The EA crew gave a 30+ minute presentation at EGX on next gen FIFA 14 alone.

It's way more than just a graphical upgrade albeit their game was already ahead of the curve. When new games come out and tout random thousands of new animations, they actually showed some of them off.

All of these games are playable at this point in the cycle. There's a reason Live is not showing their cards.

I'm hoping that the silence isn't the sound of problems, but I am becoming more concerned. We have not seen the game yet, and we are less than 40 days from launch.

2k's current gen is very good, despite the lack of changes to many features. At worst, next gen is going to be a graphical update with identical gameplay. Live has a steep hill to climb to take a chunk of the market back, and thus far it appears to have not even laced up its hiking boots.

Well I was just thinking that they still were working on the game heavily, just because they said they were happy with the response that they got at E3 and they were working hard at developing during that time. It didn't take any marketing videos to impress the people at E3 but actual gameplay. So I'm thinking they're over there working hard right now to get the gameplay solid, and skipping out on the marketing hype so that the actual game will speak for itself. Their mantra all along.

Once the game is completely developed then they can flood us with footage of what we're actually going to get instead of those. "Pre-Alpha gameplay" disclaimers and whatnot.

You do realize they are a little offer a month from release, there is not reason to wait to promote the game, even 2k has release 2 trailers from older builds, there is no excuse not releasing info i.e. screen shots other that the 2 players they have been showing over and over.

Nba 2k isn't like GTA V. Vg sales are down 40% from last year. There is no way 2k can hope to optimize game sales in such a declining market, especially when people are revving up for the next gen. The CG audience will buy the game if they have a CG and can't/won't get a NG console until down the road.

GTA and The last of us were special cases cause no one knows when or if there were going to get ported to the next consoles and the anticipation was at an all time high

My only assumption, live doesn't want to bust its load early like last time and have every sh-t on it before launch or they want to undersell and over deliver.
