I ea's game isn't ready to be shown to the public at this point in development, they are in A lot of trouble. There is very little development time left for any major improvements at this point.

Based on what? They may want to polish the game before showing anything. Again, why show something that isn't polished? Why show anything now at all?!

The game comes out in November. Its August 30th. Still over 2 months away. Think its safe to say theres no need to rush out gameplay vids now looking at it from EAs perspective. If it was up to me we would have seen gameplay vids at E3. But im not gonna sit here saying because we havent seen gameplay 2 months out means they are not confident. Thats just silly.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

And you would have killed any hope of success. Gameplay was not ready to show at E3. Anything shown at THAT time would have been a mess.

That comment is from a fan perspective wanting to see the new game. I totally understand the game likely was not ready to be shown at that point.

last time they showed us the game early we scared them from basketball. so mabey its a good thing they are keeping it under wraps(for them). even if it is bad they will still get a bunch of pre sales and make some money. which is all ea cares about anyway. i hope it turns out well though. im getting tired of playing the same 2k game every year.

Just watched an interview where Sean O'Brien guaranteed NBA Live 14 will release. So it looks like patience is the key.

He also says defense will be fun to play; something that caught my attention. Also something that stands out to me is the fact that he says bouncetek enables "self expression", inferring to me that we have some serious freedom with these dribbling moves.

For instance, knowing how to pull off the Tim Hardway 1-2 crossover should actually require stick skill, and not some animation pre-programmed for a certain player. So although we both might use Brandon Jennings, the way I use his arsenal can be completely different from the way you use it.

I'm feeling it, the real basketball heads should have the advantage.

So... because you are good with a controller Greg Oden can now do double crossovers? THAT, my friends is why Live will NEVER surpass 2K Because You shouldn't be able to use Brandon Jennings in any way that he doesn't play in real life. The way you use Brandon Jennings and the way I use him shouldn't be totally different they should both represent the way he plays in real life, around here we call it SIM.

What? He said his arsenal. Meaning tools he already has. In what world does Greg Oden have an effective double crossover in his arsenal?

I hope they aren't starting that stuff again, but I have a feeling this game is going to be another cross sim/arcade title.

I agree 100%. Not everyone can pull off the eurostep 3 pointer, so just because you can do the move on the sticks doesn't mean the player in-game should be able to. Wait, that's 2k13. My bad.

I think the idea is that while both users will have access to the same moves, how they use them will be completely different. The player you're controlling has to be able to do those moves, though. In 2k13, I can pull off spins and double-crossovers with players who have no business being able to do that, with no penalty if they don't run into someone. The only difference is that the animation is a little slower.

It's really not smart to promote a game in February when the game comes out in October. Hype will die down, excitement will fade, and people won't be as excited to buy the game. Eventually dudes will get tired of evaluating the same gameplay video for a month or whatever before EA decides to release another.

Also, why wouldn't they be quiet right now? GTA V releases in exactly two weeks, and it's probably the one game that IMO could outsell COD: Ghosts (and we all know COD gets hyped up every year and outsells the previous title). So why would EA - 2k too - release info knowing it'll get drowned out by GTA? I think 2k said we'll hear about Next-Gen around the end of Sept., which happens to be a week after GTA V's release. I also think EA said we'll see gameplay by the end of summer, which coincidentally falls in the range of the last week of Sept. and AFTER GTA V's release. Had GTA V released earlier this year as expected, we might have more next-gen info for both 2k14 and Live by now.

Also, when EA starts releasing detailed info and hyping Live, they're also basically advertising the next-gen consoles, and giving a preview of what they can do on the next gen. That wouldn't be wise to do when they hadn't released Madden on current gen yet, which brings in the money for EA, and once they start with Live, people will be looking and saying, "Ok, well what can Madden do on next-gen?" So since Madden has released, they're probably shifting towards next-gen and we should get info very soon.

To me this dribble system is what elite 11 was suppose to be. The way it sound is we control the movement with the left stick and we need to choose the right dribble that make sense with the movement. That brings up the reason why the game choose animations to find the ball instead of the ball finding the animations as in todays b-ball games. Its a risk or reward system and if its done right it could be the best dribbling system we have ever seen as long as they have the proper content and honestly if they recorded every dribble like they claim we might witness it for real.
