Re: WHEN ARE WE FINALLY GOING TO SEE SOME 5 ON 5 GAMEPLAY???

I think the "guilty until proven innocent" outlook is certainly understandable.... BUT from the tid bits we've heard/seen, the guilt SHOULD be thinning by now....

The list of things going into this game is quite encouraging.... I understand the hunger for more, but it is what it is.... patience is a virtue....

I'm rooting for Live! To have a next gen console, with 2K14 AND Live 14..... that's a fun day/night......./months/year.......

One can only hope, but we could be in for an amazing basketball video game year with a next gen launch..... we should savour that much because that's not gonna happen again for a LONG time....

EA has failed time and time again, but through that failure they've learned what doesn't work. Maybe now with a fresh start EA has the ability to put something together after some planning, preparation, and countless failures to learn from. NBA Live actually won some best sports game awards at E3, and was nominated by some top sites; when is the last time that's ever happened? We've already seen a glimpse of NBA Live 14 so it's not like we're going in blind here, and from what I see it already looks light years ahead of Elite and even NBA Live 10. The control scheme sounds in depth and really seems like something that we can grasp more as we learn to play, something missing from sports games nowadays.

And NBA Elite had some great features if anything, EASBL ring a bell to anyone. Now I don't mean to be rude or put you on the spot Boilerbuzz, but it seems like anytime there's a positive vibe flowing in these forums someone just has to rain on the parade. This is NBA Live 14 for PS4, anything last gen is almost irrelevant.
Problem is you can't say anything good or bad about live, cause we dont know anything at all about it. All we have is a pre rendered shot animation and a less than impressive teaser with kirie Irving.
Its not about raining on anyone's parade, its about not knowing anything except for EA's hype about two bball games that were never released.

I'm inclined to believe that statement is false, because thats exactly how it was in NBA Elite 11.
And if you tried to pull those kinds of moves in Elite with a player that can't do it, they lose the ball. That doesn't happen in 2k, even in 2k13.

Frankly, have you heard me say anything NEGATIVE about what I saw? It just seems that all people want to hear is that everything is fine and it's all good. I am not one to get caught up in hype whether it be positive or negative. Now, if you want to hear that stuff from me, then be ready and willing to accept the negative I will give as well. I'm not a reviewer. I just know what I like and I realize that doesn't fall inline with many people. So there is little point in me ranting yeay or nay only to be argued down by folks that try push their desire for a game to succeed or fail. Especially when their views are form only from EA marketing that has hyped crap before. When I say that, it is not to imply the game is crap. It's to say that you can't buy into the hype machine! That has failed miserably twice in the last three years at least.

With that said, I only say to BOTH camps that there is a good chance for this game to be good, as well as suck like the rest. But if people start expecting too much of this game, its DOOMED to fail and I would hate to see that happen. I would like to see this game get fair shot.

So,with all due respect, you're not going to get that much out of me about it. Its not my place. Steve gave his view and that's enough for me. I respect the man too much to post something that could be interpreted as a direct contradiction. If you don't believe I was there, that's fine. I can't help that. Truth is truth. I was there. I played with Live and the Madden prototype. I've described the booth/room to my recollection enough that anyone that was there would know I was there as well.

So, again, I'm not trying to rain on any parade. I just caution folks to not get carried away and start lumping lofty expectations on the game that it may not meet. I think that's a good thing for the game.

I'm quite forward about my opinion of EA marketing. It's the best in the industry as well as the least trustworthy.

So you've played the game? If so, thats the only info you can give us after playing for 20 minutes?

And if graphics are the only improvement compared to Live 10 with 2 months to go until release, well then...

There's been no information on if he's played Live 14 so there's no reason to make assumptions.

The comparison video with live 10 and 14 shows the graphics and fluidity upgrade.

2 weeks until summer is officially over. I sure hope to see something before the end of September. But it may also depend on when/what the other game shows. It will be fun to see 2 companies slowly release info and uncover the secrets. Twice as good this year!

All I'm saying is that I won't judge a finished product versus an unfinished product. That's all. It's not right and not close to fair.

Playing around with a dribbling demo is far from "playing the game". There was no 5 on 5 action at all. Just dribbling and shooting at a basket.

Let me say this - if it junk, I would not have been there that long. Trust me. There is enough promise there, but I'm going to wait and see.

Which reminds me of Live 07 (360). I have never played that version, but looking at those "hangar" sessions before a game when you dribble alone, it didn't look that bad (minus the weird jumping/releasing the shot). Then the game starts.......

But there's a good chance EA have learned their lesson by now. Well, if not now, when?

Exactly. And that's why I'm not going to base much on that demo and why I will continue to caution others as well. It's just my recommendation. Nothing more.
