Re: Scott O'Gallagher live stream at 10
I said in the chat that they need to fix LeBron because his player face looks butt ugly and then Ryan asked me if I had only seen him in a stream, and that I should trust him when he says that you need to play the game to see that he looks great. I told him I'd rather him be honest and look into updating his face.Originally posted by Dogslax41Most people that are asking for a simulation game don’t really want a simulation game because its too hard.Comment

Re: Scott O'Gallagher live stream at 10
Hope I don't get banned for this but here goes...
I watched the entire Blazers vs. Nets.
What I immediately get is this from the people who love it and keep singing its praises:
Live 14 brings you back to the days of Atari, Sega, NES, etc. Back when consoles had no power and no capabilities.
When you had fun playing Double Dribble even though visually it looked like crap.
And all because you were using your imagination picturing in your head what it's really supposed to look like.
That's what Live 14 is. In your head, not on the screen, you want it to be good.
But in reality, it isn't.
There is some good in there. Maybe in 3 or so years, they'll have grasped what a next gen game is supposed to look like, move like and play like.
But for now, this is just Live 10 on steroids.
I respect SOG for his basketball knowledge and insight. But the overall team at EA either doesn't have enough manpower or doesn't have the resources or doesn't have the understanding of how to program realistic player movement.
The Synergy is hit or miss. I saw good things from the CPU AI (going constantly to Aldridge in the post, Isoing Melo, etc). And I saw terrible things (Tyson Chandler in the post, no 2-man games, etc.).
For all that it seems to do well like banging in the post, there is nothing more than a left or right hook shot or some quirky hop step/spin move in the paint which no big man can possibly do.
But if you tell yourself in your head, "It's okay", you'll just overlook it and convince yourself that it is acceptable.
It is not acceptable though. Not at full price anyway.
For all the control that you are "giving us", you are sacrificing realistic movements in the process. If Deron Williams can have one-to-one dribble size ups and then fling off a non-signature jumpers, all you'll do is say, "It's okay". Again, it's not.
Saw some good in there. The base is solid. The music is ridiculous. And the presentation has potential.
But that game can only be good in your head. Right now, it's not good on the screen.
And even if some people tried to make it good, they can't because there's no damn sliders. Oh, and they can't edit any player ratings.
Poor job, good effort.
Forget updating the content every day. They need to try tackling a Wishlist item everyday just to get this game up to par of what a next gen title should be.
For the sake of the industry I hope they get there one day.Comment
