      Re: Individual team player/playing styles

Okay I get what you saying now. I'm wondering if there is even a "lob tendency" or Roll to the basket for Alley-oop tendency in this game.

Honestly I don't think there is. So if there isn't playbook becomes very important. Because tendencies won't cover those situations.

The ratings will tell the player "you can thread the needle" but if he don't have a tendency that controls whether or not he throws an Alley-oop then I can see why it's not happening.

        Individual team player/playing styles

I think the immediate fix is to get the playbooks right. CPU AI should be improved off of that alone. Hopefully, with the more games played, Synergy tendencies will kick in as a supplement to those playbooks and styles.

I do agree that teams should play like they should out of the box. Seems like they assigned random plays to teams regardless of style.

Exactly Synergy should be a supplement to the playbook. Not the other way around.

Auto motion messes up my timing on offense, especially when I think a player is trying to establish low post position then he takes off towards the lane soon as I begin to throw the ball to him, I had to turn it off and start doing things manually. Playbooks definitely need to be updated too. I wish their were a set of player specific plays like on 2K.

Yeah you know what.. after reading the EA blog again on Synergy, I was wrong - Synergy does control off-ball individual behaviors/tendencies as well. I thought it was just on-ball. Here's a screencap from the blog:

How much these individual data factor into the game (and as opposed to/alongside team sets/playbooks) though, I don't know.

this is correct all teams should still play to their style out of the box even based on last year (2013) playing style.

also if i offended anyone in this year that was not my intentions....I'm a huge Live fan just like everyone else on here.

I just think it's time for EA to start getting some of these issues corrected that have plagued the series for years now.

I think this type of thread plus a player ratings thread would go a long way in letting them identify which teams and players they need to focus on in order to get a TRUE SIM experience.

At the end of the day we can have a beautiful game (graphics) but if the players and teams aren't reacting accordingly what are we left with other than great graphics?

My only worry is that 82 games worth of synergy data last year couldn't make a lot of bigs stop spinning in the post...a guy like Asik probably spun out of the post once last season if at all....if Synergy can't kill that off I worry about the more complicated things....

Synergy sounds great in theory but building a tendency system from scratch may be the best way to go...is there a version of Live where you guys think Synergy worked as intended?

See that data would be great if it only kicks in at certain times. I don't wanna see guys responding to Synergy data and breaking the plays because their tendency tells them they like to spot up lol.

If anything Synergy should drive the plays a team run so using that data we should see 33% of plays for Love being postups (What kind of post ups is that high or low post) and 24% plays that allow Love to spot up.

But the thing is Synergy should be using advanced plays as well. Right now it seems like all they do is run simple plays like "Oh Love likes to post up 33% of the time lets run quick post up plays so he can score in the post"

I want to see a Live game where the AI runs plays with multiple branch points within the play. It should never just be throw into Love for a low post play and everyone stands around waiting for him to score.

And 24th man Asik getting a post up play shouldn't even happen. We shouldn't even see him touch the ball in the post unless it's to pass to a cutter lol. There should be something within the game that says run post up play for Asik 1% of the time.

                      Unfortunately NO.....

In fact this year was the 1st time I believe someone got the information from EA explaining exactly what Synergy and ratings are suppose to do in the game.

Before I think we were all just speculating

But in the article if you read through the list of things Synergy controls we are clearly not getting that as of right now...

That might change later I don't know....but I just wish all teams and players would atleast react to their 2013 tendencies out of the box and if they want to update it as the season moves forward this year than so be it.

Not sure if you guys are going to create a Playbook thread for All teams but here's what I did in years past to kind of help out the community with Live.

Seems like this is something a couple of guys (OS) will have to get together with and go through every teams playbook

It took extensive modifying of the playbooks for all previous versions of Live to get the players where they needed to be on the floor and also create some movement in the half court sets.

The switching Defenses worked in Past Live so hopefully that hasn't changed in Live 15 as it added extra realism to the game

Here's a couple of examples of the type of Playbook modifying you guys are going to need to make with the game to get it going in the right direction:

I don't even know if we can edit playbooks other then selecting what playbook they will use. All I see is options for offensive and defensive settings. But far as playbook, I don't see an option to edit plays or even move plays within a playbook.

If the CPU is hardly running plays itself, correct playbooks won't fix anything though.

It also means Chandler isn't on the block because of a play but because of the generic playstyles of all teams (bigs on the block regardless).

People are claiming synergy isn't there but based on what you can see in game (see Kevin Love screen), there is data there. Where is that data from? Last year you would assume which is a big concern if it doesn't work.

That's not good in previous versions as you can see we had the ability to edit tweak every teams playbook and the CPU would actually use those assigned plays you set up.

EA really should address this issue in the game ASAP.

Yeah I'm looking at the playbooks and coaches right now. All you can do is view plays in the playbook. That is the only option.

Under coach options you only have the following:

                                Offense:

                                Offensive rebound tactic
                                Tempo
Default formation - only 2 formations to choose from

                                Defense:

                                on ball pressure
                                off ball pressure
                                ball screens
                                force direction
                                off ball screens
